Angelo's Civita Farnese

Description

Angelo's is a third generation Italian family restaurant that's been serving patrons on Federal Hill since 1924. It has a casual dining environment of booths and counters, but the food is hearty, satisfying Italian and American at very low prices. Their pastas are popular and their meat dishes are good, too. They also offer a full bar. Since they do not take reservations, you will want to get to Angelo's early for dinner to beat the crowds at this popular eatery. Cash only.

I visit Angelo's about 10 times a year. They serve basic homestyle Italian food like my Grandma use to make at a very reasonable price. My family and friends love it. It is a great place to take your family for authentic homemade good tasting Italian food. If you want something a little more cozy and romantic with a fancy menu check out my next favorite place Cassarino's a few doors down.

Angelo's Civita Farnese is awesome!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/09
Angelo's has been a staple on the HIll. The food tastes like authentic italian that your italian grandmother would have made. Very low key, but great food & very inexpensive.

This is THE worst place on Fed Hill. For those of you who think that this is "italian" food, you MUST be kidding yourself. No one is holding a gun up to your head writing these reviews, you are full of it. Any place that has a broccoli sandwich on the menu is a place no one should ever visit! This food was disgraceful! Sauce was out of a can, ravioli was not even cooked all the way. The food I serve volunteering at the food kitchen taste better than this!

Terrific Italian Food at Wonderful Prices!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/08
In the mood for some really good Italian food, then Angelo's is the place especially for families and larger groups. Our family has been going to Angelo's for years. Every dish they serve is delicious! Our experiences at Angelo's have been very positive and pleasurable. We highly recommend Angelo's, but do go early for your dinner for parking is an event in itself!

Diner Italian Style Comfort Food
By Lava, 6/16/07
OK, so it's not the best food on the Hill, but it's the cheapest and it's definitely not the worst. I'd describe Angelo's as comfort food. Sometimes you have to sit with strangers at lunchtime which is funny. Get the homemade macaroni and a side of meatballs. They come with fries. If they have the eggplant appetizer, get it. Yum.

Keep walking past this restaurant....
By Boston, 4/2/06
Food was very disappointing. Unfortunately we went there based on the other reviews that were wriiten from this website. Pizza was reheated and not prepared fresh, Chicken Parm was dry, over-cooked and lacked taste. Kids meals pasta and meatballs were OK. Server was pleasant, but the highlight was the Narrgansett Beer.... We will not return!!!

A unique dining experience
By BobV, 4/1/06
Angelo's is always a pleasant experience, from the best-in-the city veal parmisian, and veal chops to the bread that never fails to win converts. I have been a patron for over 30 years, and I can honestly say I never had a meal that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Over the years I have introduced many of our friends to this great find and they like my family have raved about the experience. The family atmosphere, and the many "characters" that frequent Angelos's makes this a must destination for all who haven't yet experinced family hospitality at it's best.
