Cassarino's, Providence

We went because of all the great reviews for this restaurant. We were disappointed when they brought in our appetizers:Bruschetta with no fresh ingredents and no tomotoes and goat cheese was done with a canned tomato paste(very salty). Caprese salad was not fresh. follwed by pollo con broccoli rabe which they used chinese broccoli (brought a bitter taste to the dish) instead of the sweet regular broccoli. The carbonara had green peas which it was not stated on menu when we ordered. Finally the peanut butter pie tasted stale. It was an overall disappointed dinner. We were at Cassarino's over two1/2 hours because of lack of attention on our table. We will definitely go somewhere else next time to enjoy our dinner.

Great italian food. Began going with the Dine Out and have continued because we like so much. Upstairs or down.

Food is ok. You can do better on Atwells going to another restaurant. Parking is tricky. Decor is sub par.

A terrific inexpensive option for a night out! We love going there for their terrific stuffed pizza!

Food is traditional Italian restaurant food ,well prepared, atmosphere sometimes is rushed and too busy, service is friendly but relax and forget about "moving" tables. Overall a good neighborhood place to go and favoirte standby to enjoy

Great Italian resteraunt on historical Federal Hill Providence. They have an expansive menu. Grilled Filot Mignon to Italian specialities. Nice selection of appetizers. Try the toasted ravioli with basil sauce Appetizers are Apx $10.00. Most Entree's average about $18.00. Great food , A nice evening out.

Great pasta dishes. I ordered the gnocchi with Aurora sauce - absolutely fantastic! The flavors are delicious and the quality is first-rate. Plus the portions are huge - I'm not a small person, love my Italian food, and went in hungry, and still couldn't finish my meal. The atmosphere is cozy - relaxed enough to stop by for lunch before a PawSox game, but refined enough for a nice dinner. The servers are friendly, professional, and attentive. I'll be going back again and again and bringing friends. Highly recommend.

This Federal Hill classic is run extremely well. The service and food is great. Sit at the table upstairs near the window if you can.

Looks like a place where Robert Di Niro (Analyze This) would have eaten. The food is mediocre at best, but hey, the portions are large. Surely there are better Italian restaurants than this one in Providence; why is it even being rated here?
