I live in Atlanta and always, ALWAYS must eat at Ye Olde English on my yearly visit to Woonsocket. The prices are rising steadily for a plate, but aren't they everywhere? I have never had fish and chips anywhere that compare.
most of the time the food is good, the fish+cips are not always great , chips have been off , cook a little to long and were hard and the fish is small for the money it cost, and ask what kind of fish your getting. your better off going to a sea food place and enjoy ing what you buy.
I grew up in New England and I recently returned from a trip to England. I had fish and chips there - still not even close to Ye Olde English. I live in Virginia now, but I'd give my first born to have it shipped down this way.
I grew up in Woonsocket. Ye Olde English is by far the BEST fish & chip restaurant in Rhode Island (and I've been to many). This place is always on my list of places when I return to visit family and friends. You will not be disappointed. Ray T / Cleveland, Ohio.
