An institution in RI. You don't go there for great atmosphere, you go there for great food. Shore dinners, chowder and clam cakes, and lobster fantastic. Price is what you would expect for fresh seafood.

Terrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/07
My Lobster was water logged. The service was slow, but we were a large group. Also the Italian flouder was horrible. And the clam chowder was bland and watered down even if you ask for CREAMY !!! I suggest some other seafood restaurant in Narragansett, RI .

Fantastic Clam Chowder
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/06
Disliked absolutely nothing about Aunt Carries. The food, service and price were second to none. I just wish we had something like this in England cos I'd kill for a bowl of clam chowder right now and we don't have it here

The clam cakes and chowder are terrific. The remainder of the menu is way overpriced for the valuue and quality. My wife and I shared a large fish& chips after each having a bowl of chowder with three clamcales. We received a small plate with two tiny pieces of flouonder that was very dry and overcooked. The fries were horrible. The price $12.00 outrageous. Have been disappointed here before, when ordering anything but chowder and clamcakes, and we are done. Try Captain Jack's instead.

Great price for what you get!!
By Mountain hiker, 11/13/07
Aunt Carrie's is great! The food is awesome and the staff is always smiling and very helpful! The clamcakes are bigger then any clamcake I've had and I've been to a lot of seafood joints! It's Crazy the price you pay for all the food you get! If you get a dinner ...It starts with a cup of chowder(m,t,or p), a bowl of salad or coleslaw (the slaw is wonderful), your choice of fries, veggie, or starch, homemade bread and butter, and then it comes with a choice of any of their homemade pies or classic indian pudding, plus you get your drink!! Where can you get ALL that food for anywhere between 10.95 and 25 bucks?! Plus if you have kids....the food in the dinning room is served on frisbees and at the counter it's served in sandpals.... My kids LOVE it! Did I forget to say it's BYOB...no cork fee! This is by far my favorite place to go in the summer! I just wish I could get some cakes in December!

used to be good but not now
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/06
I have been coming to Aunt Carries for a very long time and the food and value was always awesome. My visit for lunch today was the first for this summer season. I couldn't believe what we were eating. Hubby ordered chowder, clam cakes and a shrimp roll. Chowder was tasteless, full of potatoes, clam cakes were soggy, and the shrimp roll was aweful. Appeared to be frozen and just heated up. They were small and not worth the value. They were unfit to eat. I had chowder and agreeded that it was tasteless and was loaded with potatoes. My fish sandwich was soggy and the fish smelled unpleasent. Think they also went up in lobster roll price, so, I didn't order it. I wil not be going back, ever...........We had to go looking for our waitress for check. Found her sitting at a table chatting with friends...........
