Description

Brick Alley Pub is a local favorite, popular with both families and young adults. The menu includes hearty New England soups and burgers; an extensive salad bar selection is also available. The cozy, wood paneled downstairs room is complete with everything from high chairs to a large screen TV. The upstairs bar area offers large windows overlooking the waterfront area, making it a pleasant place to wait for your table. Families or large groups should go early as a typical wait on a weekend night can be up to an hour long. Don't miss out on the Sunday brunch with fabulous dishes like Crab Cakes Benedict or the Sailor Sandwich.

Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant

April 16, 2013 lunch. Amidst the top of the line and the hole in the wall cheapies, this is the Worst place in Newport. This place is super friendly while you wait for a table. One we were seated, our server was unfriendly and business like. No warmth at all. The lobster ravioli was either overcooked or old at least the lobster component. The pasta component (ravioli outside) was slimy, not firm and tasty. The server did not apologize when we told her. She looked at me until I asked her to take it back, and please bring a menu. I didn t bother ordering anything else for myself. I did order my child something else, this time from the kid menu, which was good. The bread and coffee were ok. Not bad, not great. There is one kind of red sauce for everything and it s spicy, even used on the kids menu, which they do not modify and do not appreciate if you inquire. There is no flexibilty to alter dishes slightly. A manager did not come by to inquire about the sent back food.

This is a quintessential Newport restaurant. A casual, fun place with a great menu. The lobster roll is outstanding, and there is a lot more that is just as good. It's pub food, New England-style. And a great wine and beer selection to boot. The atmosphere and service make this an all-around great place for families, business lunches or dinners, dates.....what more can I say? I just love the place. I should note that I'm a Boston native and have spent a lot of vacation time in the Newport area, and this is a MUST anytime we get back there. You won't be disappointed when you visit this truly unique Newport eatery. And don't forget to buy a T-shirt when you are there: great quality and graphics.

This place is excellent. My wife and I went there for dinner with our 7 year old daughter. The place was busy and we had a 30 minute wait. Many of the restaurants along the same road were near empty. Found out why, the service and food were beyond belief.

No trip to Newport could be complete without a trip to Brick Alley Pub. We love talking to the neighborly 'Locals' at the bar, they told us about some of the things to see and do in Newport that were not in the brochures. The wait staff is very accommodating and friendly. You feel at home immediately. Food is good, good burgers and so much more. I had the Caribbean Chicken which was great. Large portions. Salad bar is covered in packed ice, all the items were so fresh. So many signs, posters, license plates and odd items cover the walls. There is even a fire truck inside the restaurant! A 10 for atmosphere.

I had dinner at the Brick Alley Pub a week ago.I was by myself and had dinner at the horseshoe shaped bar in the back of the restaurant. The dinner ( filet mignon ) was outstanding. The meal came with a trip to a salad bar in the next room. The salad bar was excellent. The service from the bartender was exceptional.I would highly recommend this restaurant to all visitors that visit Newport...

More Lobster then the Cruise
By Sir Jeff, 10/22/06
Just completed a New England/Canadian Cruise. Spent the afternoon in Newport. Tour guide suggested this Pub......best meal we had of the whole week...I had the lobster reuben! Had more lobster on a sandwich than the two seved on the ship the evening before...! and the fried cheese/portabello mushrooms...I wish I had the recipe...great service too. It was cold and raining...........but this meal made the whole day complete. Too bad I live in Texas.
