A-1 Pizza, Newport

i just left A-1 with my friends and i have to say that the cheese pizza is fantastic. we also ordered a gyro and tried the turkey specialty wrap, and that was so delicious. the four of us ate everything and also shared two pieces of baklava and bought the tzatziki sauce for this weekend. i give it thumbs up and i will be ordering their again.

Well sounds to me that Jess may own a local pizza place in town or work for one.Just last week I visited A-1 with my family that was up from New Jersey. It had been 23 years since the last time they ate at A-1 and they all agreed the food was still great!!! We had gryos,pizza,and grinders all of which was excellent and made to perfection. I have had the roast beef grinders many times and each time I have ordered it I never was disappointed!! The food is always freshly made and just the way you like it. I also have had their dinners as well they serve great portions and the price is right. The employees are always professional and friendly. I cant beleive that someone would write such horrible things such as Jess did. Sorry Jess you are wrong in your review you could not have made it any obivous of what your intentions were. I will continue to enjoy A-1 along with all the others of Aquidneck Island and out of towners. Shame Shame.

Hi, I had come on to this site today because I ordered a pizza from A1 tonight and was in heaven .Saw the GOD awful comment below and felt so badly for the owners of A1, knowing it has always been great food and I have never been disappointed I commented on the gentlemen's (if you call someone like that a gentlemen) comment. A1, you are A1, you have always made my food to order, your pizzas are to die for, and I also request my sandwiches a certain way and you have always made them to order and they are always delicious!!! Thanks for your A1 tradition that has not disappointed very many, maybe just 1. Keep up the great work. You win awards and clearly have deserved them, so most people know good food when they taste it. Still thinking that person owns a pizza place and trying to make you look bad. He should go spend the money and eat at 5 star restaurants, not pizza shops.

The pizza is so good, I ate the crust first. Seasoned with a hint of garlic- it was some of the best crust I have ever had. I just ordered a pizza and it was one of the best I've ever had. The gyro pizza was perfect, first time I ever had it - first time in this place. You gotta try it - someone in 2008 wrote greasy - not a chance - if you want greasy and wet go somewhere else. Now I know why they were voted Newport's Best.

A1 is hands down, the best pizza in Newport especially for the price. Always good, fun service and you can pretty much get anything you want on it. Baked just right...haven't tried their other food because I'm still so stuck on the pizza. When I find something good I usually stay with it, and I can count on my pizza to be consistently great every time. If you're looking for ambiance you won't find it their. Plenty of seating, but the bright lights will make you want it to go.

I have been eating at A-1 Pizza for 23 years and not once have I had a bad meal there. The pizza is the best and the grinders are so good. I can't believe how big the menu has gotten. My husband and kids love it and when you have family and friends visit we always go there. Keep up the good work

Whatever. It's the same greasy fried guilty-pleasure food as any pizza joint, but for whatever reason they think it's ok to make you wait an hour for the privilege. Save a few bucks, save lots of time, and order elsewhere.
