my fiancee and I visited BI on 8/6/11 for the first time. we went to finns for lunch as recommended by a local cab driver. from the very start they were rude, including the manager/ owner was as well rude. the food was bland, undercooked and expensive. at the end our 70 dollar lunch was an unwanted experience . we will never visit again, including some other local business owners, when they heard our experience told us they have a poor reputation , and their food and serviice s not one they recommend. this was said by three other locals...
09/25/10 We stopped in to Finns for dinner on Saturday night of the 2nd 'Taste of Block Island'. I ordered the lobster which arrived soaked and swolen. My wife ordered the Stuffed Flounder which made up for its blandness by soaking it in butter. The Clam Chowder was straight out of a Chunky Can. The background behind this place is that they have their own fish market as well as the restraurant. Whatever they do have as far as fish in their market seems moot as the majority of the menu is fried or broiled.
finn's rocks!!! great service the freshest seafood on the block and reasonable prices!!! you may have to wait 35-50 mins. if you get there after 7pm. or during a lunch rush...so don't go when you are too hungry, but make certain you go!!!
Finn's has been a local favorite forever. It's still a family-run restaurant with great food and ambience. The fish is always fresh, cooked to perfection -- steaks are great-- hamburgers and fries are fine. You can't go wrong with a meal here!
