Had high expectations due to other reviews. Non of the employees seemed happy to have us there. Our meal took unusually long to arrive, the waitress never offered to refill our drinks.(I had wine my husband had soda) My husband finally asked for a refill on his soda. When our meal finally arrived we felt it was poorly presented considering the price (the menu listed 18.99 for my husbands seafood casserole) and his serving was small. The pasta sauce was so simple I think it may have been simply tomato sauce from a can? When the bill came we were charged 19.99 for hubby s dinner and they charged $4.00 for the glass of diet soda (they charged for the refill). I think the waitress should have informed us as this is an unusual practice. We eat out about 5x per month and I can say we wont be back to this restaurant. The only thing we liked was the atmosphere, it was cozy inside.
We were looking for a fine dining restaurant in the Taunton area. There are not a lot of choises. I lived in this area for 3 years and never heard of this place. I found it online and thought we should try it this Christmas season. We went on a Friday night. It was very busy, but we were seated without a long wait. From the appetizers to the meal, wine and desert everything was exceptional. The service was very attentive. I am looking forward to go back to this restaurant. Definitely recommend it to everyone who enjoys a nice italian meal!
WHERE CAN YOU GO WHERE EVERYONE KNOWS YOUR NAME..?? HARRY'S ...From the moment you enter the welcoming front door on... the entire staff makes you feel like a wonderful longtime friend so happy to see you. The food is nothing less than perfection. This old world restaurant is pretty hard to beat. Eating at the spacious bar, informal dining area or in the formal dining room you too will just love HARRY'S LA CASE MIA. FIVE STAR RATING......
Very disappointing. The people were very good, thoughtful and professional, but the food was a let-down. The antipasto was huge, but only because it was on what seemed like a peck of iceberg lettuce, and consisted otherwise of sliced if salami and cheese, with some not particularly good tuna and a few vegetables. The haddock was acceptable, but the alfredo sauce was too thin, and the sauce on the linguine needed some flavor. I was overcharged $1.50 for a glass of wine, and the tab seemed to be $6-7 over the menu prices. The grind of pepper in the shaker was larger than the holes in the cap, and it had to be removed to allow me to shake some out sideways. I repeat that the people were professional, but no real Italian restaurant would serve antipasto with iceberg lettuce of salami sandwich slices, or sliced cheese. The antipasto here was formerly heavenly, but no more. We will not return. If we get a gift certificate, we will give it to some homeless people. Very disappointing.
Attempted to have dinner there with my wife for Valentine's Day. Service was horrible. No napkins, no bread plates, dirty silverware. When asked for assistance, rebuffed. Holiday menu included minestrone soup, but was told it was not available at 7:00PM. Walked out, never to go back !
We had 8:00 P.M. reservations and finally got seated at 8:52 P.M. By 10:00 P.M. we were asking where our food was, which came at 10:10 P.M. The food was totally disgusting, and I also asked for linguini and got angel hair pasta. They did not compinsate us in any way at all. I will never go back again and I will also be spreading the word on our dissappointing Valentine's Day dinner.
I have to say that this was the best food, environment, service I have ever experienced (and that's saying a lot). The food portions were incredible (I brought home enough food for lunch the next day). The taste was out of this world. Too many Italian Diners try to go over the top. Harry's has created the perfect sauce, the perfect everything. The environment is so inviting. There are so many personal family touches throughout that you feel like you are part of the family and their dining traditions. The service was spot on! The wait staff was full of energy, even on a busy weekend night. I will make it a point to drive the distance to go to Harry's as much as possible. If you haven't been there yet, or it's been a while...GO! This is one restaurant you can't pass up the oppurtunity.
