The food is great. The prices are low. They do not take credit cards, just cash. But that is what helps keep the prices low. The food is authentic Portuguese, so if you like bland American food, it is not the place for you. Portuguese food is flavorful and features fish. They know how to cook fish. So delicious. Can't wait to go back. The service is good too.
We were passing through New Bedford on a trip, and got recommendation from the motel. What a hit. Excellent tastes, more than you can eat in a week, and fine service. A real local atmosphere. We'll go out of our way to come back.
I've been going to Antonio's for at least the past 15-16 years and they WERE very good up until recently the past few month's.
I have gone there with my wife and two children only twice in the last 3 month's, had different meals and it all tastes the same.
Who ever is in the back cooking...get rid of him or her because the have no clue how to cook two different meals.
I am giving two stars only for the meals, other then that the service is great as always.
Antonio's is the place to go on the South Shore for some fantastic Portuguese Food. The meal always begin with a basket of fresh pops and butter. From their, the menu is packed full of excellent dishes such as Paella, Steak Antonio, and smaller portioned sandwiches such as pork butt and linguica which are served with their handcut french fries. Almost every meal comes with either rice, boiled potatoes or french fries. And the portions, my goodness. Theaverage meal there costs anywhere from $5 upwards of $16 and the meal is big enough to either split or pack up as leftovers for at least two more meals. The service is great, the atmosphere can be noisy so don't take someone here for a romantic date. Otherwise you can not beat the price, and portions. The food is fantastic! A+
