Dean s Restaurant
We anxiously awaited our food after sipping on the best iced tea ever - lucious with the added fruit and mint. Our party decided to try a different entree each and share bites. While waiting, our waitress kindly brought our bread and whipped butter - yeast rolls and corn muffins. The place was full and people ate quietly and came and went easily. We eyed the food going to each table and marveled at the salads and desserts. (The bakery will be visited often by me - butterscotch pie, Italian sour cream cake - the list is huge - HOME MADE AND elegant) DON T miss this place - I doubt if I will ever go anywhere else to dine and certainly won t be driving to Knoxville to dine unless I want Thai or Indian. Words can t describe the entrees nor the sides - ever have gourmet down home cooking? This isn t grease-laden collards and starch-filled cream corn either. The turkey and dressing, the catfish --- wow. My mouth is watering for everything there. I can t wait to go again - tonight isn t too soon. (p.s. - I ve lived in many countries for years and I my taste buds were thrilled last night.)
