Mews Restaurant & Cafe, Provincetown

We ate here twice while my wife and I were on the Cape last week. I had the Almond Crusted Cod served with horseradish mashed potatoes and it was the best cod I've ever had. In fact, it was so delicious, I had it both times we dined there. For dessert, we shared the Fruit Cobbler with Vanilla Gellato and it was also fabulous. We rarely eat dessert, but we were on vacation and decided to go for it. We are so glad we did. I love fine brew and their offering was limited, but they had a couple of great Belgian ales so I was happy with the choices. Some here were disappointed with the service, but even though it was busy, we had great service both times. It was a lovely experience all around. I'd give this restaurant 10 Stars if I could.

The MEWS Restaurant & Cafe is the BEST restaurant in Provincetown with its excellent variety in menu options, stellar service, and fantastic waterfront views! Staff has a long standing history and is professional and friendly, martini and wine list is impressive, vodka selections of more than 280, Bloody Mary buffet BRUNCH is outstanding! There is no reason to dine anywhere else in town!!! MEWS has it all!!!

My Beautiful wife and I celebrated our First Anniversary and Valentines Day and we had a wonderful time. Going there for our Fifth Anniversary.I would recommend friends to go there.

This was to celebrate our 5th anniversary, having met in P-town so I wanted it to be special. We had reservations at 6:30 & arrived on time. From the beginning got excuses because of the 6 o'clock rush though the place was half empty -- no menus, no water glasses, s-l-o-w bar service. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks. The waiter wanted us to order dinner before we even got our drinks & I said no, I wanted to enjoy my cocktail first. So, we get the cocktails & he's pushing us to order. We order & the food comes quickly. When he delivers the entree I say I would like a glass of wine w/dinner. He gives me a wine list which he had picked up from another table. 15 mintues later he asks what I decided & I said no thanks as I wasn't looking for a glass to go. Didn't see him again until dinner was over. So, the food was very good, the service was poor -- got to turn those tables over!!! Thanks for making my anniversary a special experience!

A friend who had been years ago suggested this place but from the moment we walked in the door, the staff was rude and arrogant, rushing us to get in and out. The food was average at best. Tried several other P-town places and found all of them much better.

Mews is always on my list as well. If you are looking for places to enjoy a great meal Chester should also be on your list. It is more expesive though.

Went to P-town last Thurs. through Sun. and made reservations at the Mews 2 weeks before we left. First of all, everytime we go to P-town, we eat at least once at the Mews and have become accustomed to fine food, service and ambiance. Well, I must say that this Saturday night was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. We requested a table downstairs overlooking the beach, which we did receive; although, it was right in front of the kitchen. The noise that evening was extreme--I have had quieter dinners at a diner. The food, at best, was mediocre. The service verged on poor--not once did our waiter come to our table during dinner to ask how our meal was, or if there was anything he could get for us. This may sound petty, but when you're paying high prices for your dinner, you should have good food, good service and the ambiance should be pleasant. This was not the case last Saturday night, and we probably will not put the Mews on our list of restaurants to return to upon our next visit!

This is my favorite PTown restaurant. It's a great place for a quiet brunch downstairs, for which I'd highly recommend the french toast. Their coffee is the smoothest I've had, and I'm extremely fussy about coffee. For dinner, I recommend the Filet Mignon and seating in the upstairs dining room which, while it can get very noisy, has an electric atmosphere of excitement.

Anytime I visit P-Town I always dine at the MEWS at least once, never have been disappointed...
