One side of this landmark is an old-fashioned restaurant complete with high-backed booths and red carpeting. The other side features a huge bar and room to mingle. The food is good in either venue. Steak, seafood and chowder are staples in the dining room, while lighter fare is the norm at the bar, where the focus is more on drinking. Cape Cod restaurants come and go, but this popular spot, especially at night, remains a fun place to grab a bite or share a drink with friends.
You would think with all the people lining up to get in, that there would be something good about this place. There is. The bar scene is pretty ok. Heaven help you if you order the food. I'm sorry, but this restaurant is a total tourist trap.
There is no better place in the world! The pefect bar, with the same bartenders I grew up with. The owners are fantastic - nicest people you'll ever meet. Food is great, pretty consistent, chowdah is awesome and their steamers are small & sweet!! When I die I want to be burried underneath the Squire!
Used to be the place to go in Chatham, Now it's dirty and tired. Staff is ill trained and inattentive and the food isn't what it used to be. They now buy their Chowder in plastic bags, hasn't been made on site in years.
This is the best place for seafood in Chatham period! You will not be disappointed at all. I mean the lobsters come in daily from the wharf, what more could you ask for. The ambience is great! And it's just a great place to get together after a day of hanging out on the beach. I can't say enough about this place, it rocks!I've had the luxury of going up there and hanging with my grandmother and relatives just about every summer when I was young, so this place was a definite staple. In conclusion, don't miss this place, I can't say anything more about this place, except that it's awesome!
This is an informal local pub-type place with great, very fresh seafood. The staff was greeat - and it is very family-friendly. I ordered the mussels at the bar, and they were willing to cook them in white wine and garlic instead of marinara. And they were fabulous!
This place has the best of everything for a restaurant. I was on vacation with my wife and we decided to try this this place out. The service was excellent, the bartender was very nice and fast with our drinks, the dinner was absolutely wonderful, and the atmosphere in the Squire was outstanding. We ended up going back towards the end of our vacation before heading home. We will be back in the future. You can count on that! I would also like to add that the chef, I think Tom or Todd was his name is in my opinion, the best chef around.
The atmosphere is great.Food is a little sad. The salads look like they are dumped out of a warm Cello bag. The Bulkie rolls are stale. Most pasta dishes are heavy and salty! Cod is always a good bet.The wonderful, rustic pate is served with Ritz crackers, which overwhelm the dish.
The staff is super. Family friendly dining room. The place is always packed.Locals and tourists mix well. We will continue to go to The Squire hoping the kitchen will find its palate and renew its passion. It should produce consistent, quality bar food.Prices are a good value and nice portions.
