Red Pheasant Inn Cape Cod Restaurant, Dennis

Excellent spot. Our family has had dinner here many times. It's a bit upscale, so you don't usually see families coming in with the fathers wearing T-shirts (Yeah!) Food is routinely excellent, home made breads, fresh fish and meats cooked to perfection; desserts excellent. Fireplace usually burning, nice ambiance. Both the waiters and valet parking has been excellent. They may have made a few mistakes in the fast (other review), but this restaurant is, and has been consistently one of the best restaurants on North Side of Cape (6A) within miles and miles for many a year.

Ugh!!! Hair in our food. The first bite into a popover had a HAIR in it. Needless to say we wondered how many more hairs were in other foods. If I had been alone I would have walked out, but I was hosting. The owner was told by me and the waitress and she, Denise, never came over to apologise . The restaurants lack of care and concern for a health iss,ue HAIR IN FOOD cannot be excused. We obviously were not important to them. There were only 7 tables full, so she had plenty of time to amend the situation.

SERENDIPITY! Roaring fire with beautiful handmade gingerbread houses and Christmas Decorations everywhere. This was Christmas Eve and what a beautiful special event. I will remember it for years to come and would recommend this as a lovely place to celebrate the pursuit of fabulous foods. This beautiful gem of a restaurant is the place to go if you have a trained or adventurous pallet. A great date or special occasion place to go for wonderful food, lovely atmosphere and lighting, a dining experience not always easy to find with such a sophisticated yet woodsy array of game and foul. Regarding the last few bad reviews: It IS Valet parking this is a NICE and fairly EXPENSIVE restaurant. Not for the penny pincher drinking water and self parking a mile away! Also not for someone with little children that cant sit still the WHOLE TIME and behave so others can enjoy the experience. Everyone seems to think THEIR kids are so well behaved... All kids are noisy to a point.

I made reservations for 2 at 6PM to celebrate my 70th birthday. I had heard good things about the Red Pheasant restaurant. We were sadly disappointed. We arrived to find valet parking. The valet saw us and went into the restaurant so we parked nearby where there was lots of space. The valet then asked us to move our car to a nother lot. When we entered the restaurant we were onre of the first diners. I had asked for a special table when I made my reservation. We were seated by a window with the view of a large air conditioner. At6:15 we put in our complete order. The appetizers can in a timely fashion but our diners of scallops arrived at 7:45. During our wait the hostess came to apologize and our water came twice to apologize for our dinners delay. Once we finally received out dinners our plates were cold. Our waiter never returned to ask us if everything was OK with our meal. My water glass was never refilled and our empty dinner plates remained in front of us while we watched our waiter go several times past our table empty handed into the kitchen. We ordered dessert and a cordial and when the bill arrived it was presented to me!On leaving the restaurant we gave all out complaints to the hostess. She said she was sorry. Excellent food, wonderful ambiance. Sit by the fireplace inside or along the porch with its perrenial garden view. Ingredients are fresh and most often locally grown. I recommend the no reservations Bistro seating and menu for a less expensive but ample dinner. The Bistro salmon is delicious. Extensive wine list; wines by the glass are much more affordable.

I'm sure it's delicious but don't take the kids! The owners were sure to let me know that the little ones were not welcome. And no I did not bring two screaming brats who had no business there - you could just see the uptight/concerned looks on the owners' faces as soon as we arrived... We made a reservation for 6.30pm on a Wednesday night and upon arrival the owners were quick to show their displeasure with the kids. So we left without even being seated as I did not want to endure a meal feeling unwelcome. I don't believe upscale=no kids, as there are certainly upscale restaurants that welcome families but this is not one of them. oh well....

Loved the ambiance, food and the good service, (not too overbearing which we don't like. The food is gourmet and my husband gets the rack of lamb everytime as he said it is the best he has ever had. We go as often as we can.

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant - the outside is adorable, and when we first when indoors I was thrilled - looked so quaint and cute. But I was so disappointed when we finally did. The food was bland and flavorless and the staff was rude.

We driving along route 6A looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. We came upon The Red Pheasant. We pulled into the parking lot and were greeted with valet service. We did not have a reservation, but the Host said he had a table for the 5 of us. The service was excellent! The waitress was very knowledgeable! Our meals were delicious! We had 4 different entrees, and everyone was pleased! We can't wait to go back!
