Tugboats Fine Food & Grog
Management at this casual eatery understands that most patrons prefer outdoor seating, so the decks are chock-full of tables overlooking the harbor. This establishment has two large bars and lounges and three dining areas. Watch the Nantucket ferries come and go as you try the lobster roll, the rich and creamy clam chowder or abundant sandwiches. Heartier fare complements the evening menu. Tugboat's is a great refuge, even on rainy days. A popular nightspot, head for the tiny upstairs bar where folks at the bar swill tropical drinks to music with a Caribbean beat.
I went into tugboats last week. It is under new management and the place has a completely different atmosphere. I had the Mahi special and the steamers as an appetizer. Everything was incredible! Everyone was very friendly and made the experience worthwhile. I would say Tugboats is a great choice if you are looking to eat out somewhere!
5/22/10 The Manager Was Horrible !
We love our steamers. So we ordered an appetizer of steamers.(We know that they can be a bit sandy at times)They were so FULL of sand that we couldn't eat them so when the waitress asked how they were we told her.The manager came over and immediately accused us of lying saying that he tried one and it didn't have sand.He refused to apologize. I will never go to tugboats again. THE MANAGER WAS HORRIBLE !
Very noisy. Did I say very noisy?? Lots of children
Cramped and loud. Server was uninterested and tired. Probably run off her feet and wanted to get people served fast and out.
Ordered plate of famous onion rings to start - all batter and no taste.
Hamburgers were burnt and unedible.
Never came back to ask how our meal was.
Not impressed. Would not go back.
Did I mention the noise and yelling kids?
The crab cakes were previously frozen, freezer burnt, not edible. The manager really did not care. We eat in Hyannis alot but, will not be back at Tugboats. Emailed them with a complaint and did not get a response.
