Chillingsworth still holds the mantle for offering the best dining experience on all of Cape Cod. All the superlativesexquisite food, outstanding service, enviable wine list, romantic ambiancecome with a price, but one so worthwhile that the only difficulty comes in acquiring a reservation. The menu changes seasonally, with options such as Carpaccio of Veal with Truffle Oil and Loin of Lamb with Fig Tart. Those not up for the full seven-course experience of the main dining room should patronize the more casual Bistro.
Food poison alert!!! Had a dinner last night at a bistro, has shrimp taco for an appetiser and miso salmon for entree, fish tasted funny, little that i know i ended up throwing up all night, had the worst food poisoning in my life!!!! Horrible !!! never going back to this masterpiece, and wouldnt even recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!
what a beautiful setting, gorgeous old home turned restaurant/inn. Charming proprietors, and menu more interesting than anything else to be found on Cape Cod. Sophisticated and delicious, wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend.
Exquisite cuisine. This is not fast food don't walk in expecting to do 6 courses in an hour this is an experience to be savored. The food is as amazing as the wine list and the ambiance and service is wonderful. Want to impress that special date on cape THIS is the place to bring them :)!!! YUM! Bring your check book its very expensive and worth every single penny!
We had dinner in the bistro on a Thursday night at 6:30. Appetizers took about 20 minutes to arrive. But everything tasted good. Dinner was 50 minutes from being seated. The swordfish came out undercooked and both steak entrees came out missing the grilled onions. Everyone at the table was almost done when the waitress came back to check on us. The warm toffee cake was disappointing and the pistachio creme brulee did not a hard shell of sugar on top and was sent back taking 10 minutes to be returned and then it was very good. All in all a very average meal considering the prices.
The place was OK, but is grossly overated. The building and grounds are in poor upkeep. The Manager, Pat is surley and rude. Not a good host and terrible people skills. I will not go back as long as she is running the place.
Dinner at Chillingsworth is fabulous. Nitzie Rabin, the chef, is talented and imaginative. His creations are the best that I have tasted on Cape Cod. I love this restaurant. It is expensive, but absolutely worth the money. Very high quality.
Like many others who live in the Cape Cod area and appreciate world-class cuisine, we are returning to Chillingsworth for a celebration of their 30th year under chef Nitzi Rabin and his charming wife Pat.
If you appreciate food and service in the style of a good Parisian restaurant -- that is, imaginative food and efficient friendly service without unctuous snottiness -- you'll appreciate the informal elegance of Chillingsworth.
The tasting dinners, usually with pairings of excellent wines, have become our favorites. The Fall game dinner a few years ago was especially memorable.
