Center Street Bistro, Nantucket

so many great restaurants on the island, but this is one of the best. quality of food and value. i had breakfast there this morning....the blueberry pancakes were out of this world delicious. and the quality of the bacon was superb, something i don't often find at breakfast. it is tiny....which makes for great service, hot food, but plan on getting friendly with your "neighbors". i like to go with a party of 4, that way you can talk with them and not feel compelled to talk to your fellow diners. in all the years that they've been open, i've never had a bad (or even mediocre) breakfast, lunch or dinner there. great value, superb food, friendly wait staff. once the weather is nice, you can dine on the patio out in front. everyone i know loves centre street bistro. we've followed ruth and tim from the other places they've worked right to this place that is now theirs. you can also get food to carry out, sometimes a good option on an island where resies are hard to come by.

When you run out of money on the island...and you will...head here. Good for lunch or dinner.

great food, but limited atmosphere

People rave about this place. I've raved about it too.. but not in a good way. The place looks like a hollowed out dump. The food doesn't taste fresh, is never hot enough, and you always leave hungry. I always question my friend's judgement when he insists we eat there.

very cosy and soul satisfying food. The baked chocolate in filo dough is one of my all time favorite desserts. The chocolate is gooey and rich, and the filo is flaky and buttery, yum!
