Description

New England, the Deep South, Pacific Northwest, and Wild West are not just four regions of the United States; they are also the menu categories at this upscale, popular eatery. Dishes are prepared in traditional style, using foods and flavors indigenous to each region. Patio dining is available in the warmer months; otherwise, eat in the cozy and casual, non-smoking dining room. The wine list is a regular Wine Spectator award winner. Fine dining at it's finest.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/09
This place really is fantastic for a wide variety of food. I never get bored coming here! The menu seems to change a lot, but I always enjoy the fish platters (scallops are my favorite).

Very good food, I would say absolutely in par with the Company of the Cauldron, which is currently rated 3 points higher. Chaotic decor without much concept. The service was quick and attentive, albeit the waiter confused some of the tables. But it is all forgotten because of the excellent food.

Wonderful, beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. The Seared Maine Day Boat Scallops with Almond Veloute & a Rhubarb Brown Butter were insanely good and the Chili Glazed Organic Salmon with Fried Green Tomatoes& a Smokey Crayfish Butter was one of the best dishes I'd had in a while. I can't even get into the desserts, they were so delicious.

This is probably one of the three best restaurants in MA. Fresh seasonal ingredients creatively matched by an un-sung genius, fronted by a warm, friendly, and helpful wait staff. Excellent wine list. This is the place to broaden your culinary horizon with every dish from old standards to new american regional fusion. You've got to go. Not cheap in any sense (it's on Nantucket), but it's worth the price.

Romantic.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/9/08
A very good little romantic restaurant. Reservations are required in the summer. They get really busy. The cuisine is a true mix from different areas of the United States. My favorite meal is the crayfish risotto. This is cooked to perfection with just the right spice. A must try in Nantucket.

while many of the commentators think no small beer of themselves and usually are arrogant and sarcastic w/waitstaff,must say,i've never seen a bigger devotion in making this delicious food and a deeper concern when a non empty plate goes back to the kitchen.both owners are of exceptional talent and care highly about their customers.portions aren't small-your stomach can't handle more unless you're obese.Prices correspond to the economy.A must go!

If you don't mind the noise, dining at American Seasons is the perfect Nantucket food experience. The greeting is friendly, as is the knowledgeable staff, and the concept of grouping the menu by sections of the country makes it fun choosing your courses. Cutting edge ingredients, wonderful wine list and desserts to die for are why you need to reserve weeks ahead in summer. Go spring and fall.

I don't want lavender in my food...only on my wrists and behind my ears! Food is overwrought. They keep laying on the extras just enought to make the food just taste awful!

Noisy, waitstaff impatient, food fair at best. I have no idea why we go there - there are better choices.
