Company of the Cauldron, Nantucket

i agree wholeheartedly...this is one of our best options for dining on our island. there is one menu per evening....with allowances made for allergies, etc. but you can stop in and read the menus for the coming week, then choose the night that best suits your taste. if i had to pick one place for a special occasion meal, this would be it. i love the idea that all i have to do is select my wine, then sit back and let the food appear. no choices, no descriptions, just wonderful, fresh beautifully prepared food served at a perfect pace. the harp music is a wonderful addition. we've had trouble getting in at the last minute, but you can be placed on a call list and if someone doesn't reconfirm their resie, you might just get lucky! don't miss the company if you visit. it might be the best meal you'll have here.

The Company of the Cauldron is a very unique dinning experience. The menu changes daily, and although it is a fixed menu, the offerings are creative and delicious. For instance, a lump crab salad in a bed of warmed cream less creamed corn with a raspberry reduction and pancetta. The staff is is friendly, service excellent, and the atmosphere is inviting. Although we ate at the first seating of the evening,(There are two seatings each evening.), the meal was served in a timely and unhurried manner. Overall an great dinning experience that will bring me back again whenever I visit the Island.

We had a set menu of wonderful amazing food. A harpist played softly in the background. Waitstaff was very attentive and worked around our food allergies. Fodor's describes it incorrectly as romantic. Dark, candlelit, yes, but romantic? One does sit close by other patrons, but that proved a boon to us as we struck up a nice conversation with out neighbors.

We love it, was the best dining experience in my life. Very different, very good, it was perfect. If you are looking for the eating experience of a lifetime then spend the money and enjoy. You will not be disappointed.
