Retreat to the cliffs of Gay Head and this private bed and breakfast. The hospitality is unmatched and the view is unsurpassed. Guests may enjoy magnificent views in every direction. Innkeepers Jeannie and Hugh Taylor (of the same family as James Taylor, the singer) have created a warm environment. Wake up to a breathtaking sunrise from the large wrap-around porch. Then, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before the full course breakfast. Dinner reservations can be made for the in-house restaurant from spring through fall. Rates vary with the season. For a small fee, the Taylors also offer sailing trips on the Catamaran Arabella
I agree with the person that made the comment about the climb to the abandoned Coast Guard station on the top of the cliffs. The only thing that I would add is to watch out for ticks. The place is the best and Hugh and Jeanne are great hosts. There will be no disappointments.
We have been going to The Outer Most Inn now for 8 years and each time we have memoribl moment with Jeanne and Hugh. They are with out daught the greatest people to know, and they make you feel like part of their family.
We tell everyone we can about this place if they just want to get away, but feel at homw.

I did not like the roaches found in my bed, nor did I like the rude behavior of the employees. The food there was flavorless and tasted like something you could get at a local rundown waffle/trucker stop.
There is nothing to dislike. The breakfast is cooked by a graduate of the Cullinary Institiue of America. The rooms are light and breazy. The place is always immaculately clean. The grounds are heavenly. For a treat take a hike to the old Coast Guard station on the top of Gay Head. If this place disappoints you maybe...just maybe...your standards are too high.
This will be my 8th year to visit the OMI. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else on MVY. Hugh & Jeanne are warm, wonderful, delightful people who make you feel instantly at home. The staff are all terrific. The setting of the OMI is magical. The closer I get to the inn, the more relaxed I feel. I would recommend the OMI to anyone who wants a magical time on Martha's Vineyard.
