DO NOT GO HERE! There are so many good restaurants in Plymouth and this is NOT one of them!!! Let me first say our waitress was lovely. Very attentive and kind. Now down to business...I ordered the grilled pork chops with Mango Salsa (sounds yummy, right?!) Well when I cut into the first chop it was raw! So our lovely waitress brought it back to have it re-done. When i got the replacement dish..STILL RAW!!! At this point i was scared to have it sent back again so i choice a different dish. BBQ Chicken and Pulled Pork. When it came out the waitress asked me to make sure it was done, so i cut into the first piece of chicken and it was pink inside! This isn't even the worse of it. My husband had the steak and shrimp combo. Later that night he wasn't feeling well and was sick from food poisoning for the rest of our vacation probably because the shirmp were not cooked all the way. So heed my advice DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!
Im sitting in the tavern at this location right now using there free wifi. My waitress is very nolegable and efficiant. The onion rings are some of the best i have ever had. My stay at john carver inn was equally impressive keep up the good work
we went there the other day and let me start off by saying that the food was horrible. besides the food we had an extremley rude and arrogant waitress. I belive she said that her name was Hope. When we had questions about the menu and the wine she anwsered them like we were in kindergarden. I ordered the steak tips medium with mashed potatos and vegtable medoly. last time i checked medium did mean charcoil black. And My wife ordered the Chicken ceaser salad wrap also last time I checked the hicked in a cesar wrap is cold not blistring hot. So we asked to speak to the manager who looked like a 20 year old punk and she had a peircing on her gums. With i thought was extremly weird. So we finshed the night witha desert that we both split, It was a choclate cake with choclate all over it. And let me say this was just as bad as the meals were. So let me end this by saying that we will never go back to that establishment and be treated like we are little kids by a waitress again. Take a pointer and dont eat tehre.
We stayed at the John Carver Inn so of course we ate at the Hearth and Kettle located in the inn. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there at least once. The breakfast was very good. My husband loved the plantation omelette. The pancakes were a hit with all. Some of the best pancakes we've had eating out. bacon was cooked perfectly. Lunch was also good. Great salads and sndwiches. I had a buffalo chicken salad and the chicken was spicy but not too hot. The Tuscan chicken sandwich was delicious according to my mother-in-law. Best sweet potato fries. Dinner was not as good. The steaks were thin and chewy. The chicken was OK.The kids enjoyed their meals. Prices are very reasonable. Staff was very pleasant. Would definitely come back for breakfast and lunch.
Fantastic service! - They took our large group (50 angry, hungry teeenagers) at closing time when our dinner plans fell through. They provided unbelievable service and were very friendly. The food was great and very quick. Our angry mob was converted to mostly happy campers.
My family and I live right next to this Hotel...we walk over there every now and then and get dinner late at night when the streets are quiet. I usually get the meatloaf, which is a great meal when it's cold out, and my husband gets burgers...the onion rings are AMAZING! And I personally like it when it's quiet there...very nice place.
Lobster Chowder was out of this world!!!! My wife had the artichoke dip and could not stop talking about how good it was. I had the Blue Cheese Sirloin for my dinner and it was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Didnt have much room for dessert because their portions are so big, so my wife and I split the chocolate banana bread pudding and it was fantastic. Service was great; our waitress was a real person and not the typical robot waitress at most chains. She made recommendations and smiled the entire time. Very happy with this establishment and would definitely recommend it if you are in the downtown Plymouth area.
Just recently returned from a stay at the John Carver Inn with the family over Thanksgiving break. First off, I loved the hotel. Good value for a family of four and the kids absolutely loved the pool and slide. The food in the Hearth n' Kettle was very good and our servers were great both nights. We also received 2 10.00 dollar meal vouchers that we used both nights. Kids loved the food off of the kids menu. The apple walnut french toast was very good and the fried seafood platter for dinner was absolutely HUGE!!!!!!. All in all it was a great stay and the Heath n Kettle was a great place to eat.
