This place has great Mexican food. It's perfect for a summer day with some friends. Just sit out on the picnic tables and share a few of the platters. They have jaimaca too (it's a drink). This is a great place to relax and eat up good food.
As a native of Texas, I am very familiar with authentic Mexican food, and El Pelon has it! Before visiting El Pelon, I had no luck getting an authentic Mexican meal in Boston until visiting El Pelon. The burritos are my favorite on the menu, in which you get a huge burrito for cheap! Simply irresistible.
This is my favorite restaurant in Boston because it would be the most impossible to replace. It is the *only* actually *good* burrito anywhere within miles of the city. Sorry, Anna's. Sorry, Boca Grande. Sorry, Burrito Max. Sorry Q'doba. Sorry, Beantown. None of you guys hold a candle to this place. In fact, I used to kinda think you were good, but now I can't even eat at your restaurants anymore. I've been ruined for lesser burritos. Even in California, from San Diego to San Francisco, I've never had a burrito quite this good. If you are a burrito fan but don't live near El Pelon, you may not want to visit this outstanding taqueria, as once you do, you'll never be able to go anywhere else again.
