Tamarind House draws crowds in for the Pacific Rim cuisine, especially during the lunch hours. The decor is simple, the dishes easy to understand, and the service attentive. Red curry, beef, lime, chili salads, papaya and carrot are all common ingredients of most delicacies on this interesting menu. Traditional Asian dishes include pad thai and pad woonsen. The hot-and-sour soup and the chicken Bangkok rolls are popular side dishes. The restaurant also has a full service bar.
the worst thai restaurant I ever had. I'm Thai. I came to boston area and look for thai food in the area. I saw the good review for this restaurant so I think I will give it a try. It's nothing closed to authentic. Not even that, my american husband said its the worst thai food he ever had. it's not for thai and not even for american. I don't know how they got good review in here. The pad thai color doesn't look like convincing to eat. They serve us by mistake so I get a chance to see the Pad Thai. I ordered tamarind chicken. When the waitress came with the food, I asked her is that tamarind chicken. She said it is. I taste it, doesn't smell tamarind at all and the way they cook its disgusting. Another thai dish doesn't even come close for what I expect. Its far from what it called THAI food..... I waste my $40 to eat the food that I can even cook better at home????
I've been to the Tamarind House on several occasions. I am not one who recommends restaurants often, but I have recommended it to several friends and family members and also went so far as to bring them there.I live all the way in Brockton.
The food is amazing with tons of flavor. It is served beautifully. The service is great, the waitstaff is attentive and courteous. The prices are affordable considering the quality of the food you get, which is excellent~!~
If you love Thai food, don't miss out on this great little local place.
I lived just around the corner from this restaurant for 3 years and enjoyed it every time. Their service was excellent, and their take-out was very speedy. By the time we could walk there, our pad thai was done (about 10 minutes). Another great thing about this place is that if you want is spicy, watch out, because they will make it spicy! The prices are reasonable and it tastes fantastic. It's honestly one of my favourite places to dine in the Boston area.
As a dining-out staple in the neighborhood, it's tough to beat Tamarind House in the area. It's relatively inexpensive, and the portions are plentiful. Very friendly service. They time the dishes well, too; we are always just finishing the last of the appetizers when our entrees arrive! The fried bananas and coconut ice cream are good combos, too.
Fantastic food, great service run by a family that has been there since the palce opened, free soups at lunch, reasonably priced. This is a great palce to go for lunch and dinner but the lunch menu is a great bargain!
