The institution known as Tremont 647. I say that only because it feels like it has been there forever! So cutting to the chase, wherelse does the wait staff wear their PJ's when serving brunch...I mean really, how great is that. And yes the food is yummy and not to disappoint. Best time to go however, when the weather is nice...get that outdoor table and order up some drinks!!!

Wow! What a disaster! Sat at one of two adjacent unoccupied seats at front bar tonight (7/30) and bartender went ballistic on me- shouting at me that they were occupied (despite no one looking up at bar as I sat and no one in vicinity..). You could practically hear his shrieking decibels ricocheting off the buildings across the street. Let's say he skipped charm school 101. I say avoid the over-priced martinis and the So-End server-drama that goes with it. Plenty of other options in neighborhood. If you are a glutten for punishment though & do want to sit at the bar up front....call ahead and reserve a stool.

Friendly neighborhood place! Great staff and great atmosphere.. The food is pretty good, but the bar is better!

Not only did I step on a mouse trap underneath my table, but when I pulled the mouse trap off my foot there was a dead mouse stuck to it. I ended up touching the dead mouse inadvertently because I had no idea what in the world I had stepped on. Stepping on the trap also ruined my shoes which are now covered in this gluey substance that I can not get off. The wait staff was apologetic but the owner, who was in the restaurant, did not even come over to apologize. The food was OK but tasted a bit mousey. If the mice are running around the dining area who knows what is going on in the kitchen. This was my first and last trip to this restaurant.

Just not enough

I had been here in 1997 and had not been back since but I heard that things were new and fresh so I gave it another whirl. I don't know if this was normal or an abberation, but the whole place was filled with wood smoke, so much so that you could visiably see people in the restaurant squinting and rubbing their eyes. Staff did not seem overly concerned about it. I came out of there smelling like I'd been at a bonfire all evening, while albeit not an unpleasant aroma, not exactly what I was looking for in a dining experience. Food was OK. I liked my tuna appetizer, but that dish you can find good anywhere. The ribs my husband had, well... Apparently they are 180 degree ribs, or the best, is what our waiter told us. To me, ribs are one thing that you cannot fancy pants up. They are what they are. Whole place has a weird, discombobulated vibe. Menu, decor, crowd, servers all seem to be operating independently, there was no cohesive element among them.
