Palm Restaurant & Tavern
At The Palm, our philosophy is simple: Treat guests like family, serve great food, and always exceed expectations. That philosophy was born in 1926, when Pio Bozzi and John Ganzi opened the first Palm in New York City. From day one, Pio and John shared their commitment to quality and generosity of spirit with every guest who walked through their doors. What began as a restaurant became a legend ac" a place to not only enjoy an excellent meal but also catch up with old friends, meet new ones, close business deals, and celebrate family milestones. Still owned and operated by members of the Bozzi and Ganzi families, The Palm continues to serve as a second home for countless patrons, thanks to the exceptional standard of hospitality established by our founders.
We had reservations for Saturday at 8pm and we were seated promptly. I was surprised that the restaurant was about half full, but it was the middle of August so I thought that was the cause. The waiter was friendly and knew his job. Two people ordered steaks. They arrived cooked to order and they enjoyed the taste. One ordered the filet of sole. It was dry and nothing special. The vegetable medly was also overcooked. The snap peas were inedible because each one had a tough string. I had to spit it out into my napkin. I had the veal parmigan. It arrived lukewarm, with a very bitter tomato sauce. It was very disappointing. I will not go back to the Palm in Boston. This may be the real reason that it was so empty on a Saturday. Face it, we had to wait in a long line to get into PF Changs the night before.
Prices are what you expect for a downtown steakhouse but the quality of beef is not up to par. The seafood was far better. The filet mignon I had was a bit unexpectedaly grisely. Service was pretty good but our server would dissappear for a while. The atmoshphere is decent and a bit loud. I say got to Capital Grille instead.
My husband and I went to this restaurant for the first time last month. The lighting was romantic, the food was spectacular and the service was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Take a chance and I promise, you won't be disappointed.
