Since its opening in 1994, Stephanie's has been an institution in the heart of Boston's Back Bay. The upscale Newbury Street location offers shoppers, tourists, business travelers and locals a hearty meal in a cozy banquette or street-side with a perfect view for people-watching. Owner Stephanie Sokolove serves "sophisticated comfort food" in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The restaurant features a sidewalk cafe, club-like bar, cozy fireplace and sky-lit dining area. Over the years Stephanie's has received accolades in numerous publications, including USA Today and The New York Times.

Love the comfort food

Good ambiance in the bar weeknights and weekends. Everything from tuna tartar to pork chops and mac & cheese. Also have a great sunday brunch with outdoor seating and lots of people watching.

Place to be seen on Newbury

Probably the best outdoor seating you'll find....which is really the draw. Great ppl watching here. Food average....but they have the best and biggest hamburger ever aptly called the Stephanie's burger. Large burger w/ portabello mushroom, bacon and cheese. Very good and filling---only reason I go ($15 though). Also, know for their large salads, but I find them somewhat not as fresh considering you are paying a hefty price.

Horrible Experience

We went to Stephanie's for dinner. This restaurant is WAY overpriced, even for Boston. Every entree is over $20, appetizers $10 and up, drinks $10 and up. The food was bland and very disappointing even though we ordered things that were recommended on the menu or by the waiter. Waiter was rude, rarely checked on us, and refused to compensate us for our horrible meal. We will never go to Stephanie's again.
