Pour House

Description

Bankers like the location, students like the prices, and everyone loves the burgers at Pour House Bar & Grill. It is also a great place to stop in for a drink. This inexpensive Back Bay eatery and bar seems slightly out of place in this upscale neighborhood. At times, the kitchen slashes the prices even more, offering half price chicken sandwiches, burgers and Mexican food. It can get a bit loud in here between the crowds and the Keno machines and video games in use. Free movies are shown on Sunday.

Memories of a great holiday
We went to the Pour House in 2000 and I haven't tasted buffalo wings like it since. Will be stopping off in Boston on a cruise next year and we cnt wait to go and visit.

Great for drinks and maybe a late night meal, thats about all.

Was in Boston for one night and starving at 12:30am. My boyfriend and I asked around for a bar and grill that would still be serving food and we were pointed in the direction of the Pour House. Food was not very good, a step above fast food, and the server was not very friendly or pleasent. The burgers took about 5 minutes to cook - anytime I get my food that quickly, I know I'm not dealing with quality. It was nice to settle in with a beer... We just got into outr hotel and welcomed any food we could find. I wouldn't recommend or return for food unless faced with a similar situation again.

Good Bar resurant
By ,
Its a self-seating bar atmosphere. More of a place to hang out than just a resturant. Great food for the value. If you want amazing food, goto some 5 star resurant. Like Smith & Wolenski's.

POOR POUR HOUSE
By ,
Just one person's opinion. August 5, 2006 With so many other options on Boylston St, don't even waste your time. Let's start with the service. Took about 15 minutes for the wait staff to even notice. Understandable if there's a convention across the street at the Hynes but the place was half full. When she finally came over, she never wrote anything down so each of our 3 orders were wrong. Don't bother sending it back because it just never shows up but of course it shows up on the bill. Value? Now check this out. Go there Monday to Friday and you get one price. Go there on the weekend and for the same EXACT order, bump it up a few bucks per order. The food is ok but again, so many other options on the same block, why bother dealing. One last thing. Don't you hate it when you sit down at a table and when you put your elbows (arms/hands) down on the table, it sticks to it. POOR POOR POOR

Pretty Bad...
By ,
For a while I liked this place. They have cheap beers and the downstairs has a pretty good atmosphere. But their service staff eventually got to me. They have a thickheaded bouncer whose power trips have repeatedly ruined either mine or one of my friends' nights, and thus soured my view of the pour house. Their prices aren't low enough to justify such rude service.
