Giacomos's on he south end is amazing!! My husband and i just moved to the area and walked to this cute, romantic restaraunt and we totally amazed at the prices! beer $3, a lg glass of wine $4.50, all meals resonably priced and when our meals came we were stunned by the portion sizes! What a great deal and to top it off the food is fantastic!!!!! This is def. a place we will return to, in fact we just made a reservation to bring out friends on saturday night! They only take cash but there is a bank of america ATM right next door :)

Giacomo's is definitely worth the 1.5 hours we waited in line. We were there during the Fisherman's Feast, so the people watching was fantast! The service is quick and efficient without feeling rushed, even though the goal is to clear the tables for the mass of people waiting outside. The bread was fresh and tasty. We ordered the garlic bread and the calamari. Both were great. Our main courses were unforgetable, probably one of the best meals ever! I had the fussuli with lobster and shrimp with both the Giacomo's and the bechamel sauce mixed. YUM! This was a very large portion, full of lobster and super fresh shrimp. My friend ordered the butternut squash ravioli (which I ended up eating). This was the best pasta I have ever tasted. The squash was seasoned perfectly and was delightfully sweet. The cream sauce was sooo rich and tasty and the asparagus was cooked to perfection. I can't wait to go back!

Giacomos is fantastic. The pumpkin tortellini and calamari are the best I've had in the city. One of my favorite places. Just remember they only take cash!

Giacomo's really IS one of the best Italian restaurants in Boston and I prefer the on Columbus. (Pomodoro is extremely overrated - who else serves lobster ravioli with maple syrup as the main sauce of the dish? It was disgusting!) So, don't believe Vince, believe the Phantom!!

Small, Cozy, Romantic..What More Can You Ask For!!
By ,
The food here is very very good, especially Ravioli with Lobster:D. The facility itself is small but to me that gives it a more romantic atmosphere. As far as cost go you won't get good tasting quality food at these moderate prices that they offer anywhere else, trust me. My husband Pierre & I will definately be eating here again when we want great tasting food and peacefulness. Giacomo's is totally recommendable!

A MUST when in BOS at 355 HANOVER STREET in N End.
I have not been to the Colubus Street restaurant... I have been going to the HANOVER STREET Giacomo's (In the N. End) and that is the one many of these reviews seem to be referring to. I have been going to that location for YEARS... a MUST when in BOS! The Butternut squash ravoli w/ marscapone is to die for! Get there by 5-5:15 to avoid 30 min to 1 hr. lines. (Afterwards a trip across the street to Mikes for a canneloni and Cafe Vittorio for a cappucino is THE PLAN)... all the best of the North End dining on one street...makes for a great night!. PS...I'm sure the Columbus St. is also very good!

Surprising Experience in the Boston area
By ,
The food here is good and reasonably priced including the drinks. The decoration is pleasant to the eye and gives a cozy atmosphere to the place. Be aware that: a) no credit cards are accepted, only cash or cheques. We were lucky that one of us had a cheque book at hand; otherwise we would have to run to the ATM machine. b) it is on the noisy side.

Worth the wait!
By ,
We discovered Giacomo's two years ago while looking for a place to eat in the North End - what a find! We go back every time we're in Boston. Try to get there just as they open the doors for the evening. If you can't you'll have to wait, but it truly is worth it. The first time we were there, the place was filled with locals who told us that it's their favorite place...also a chef from a nearby restaurant came in to eat. It's a small friendly place, so you may get to know the people at the next table. We have a great time and great food whenever we go.

Best restaurant in the North End
By ,
This is by far the best Italian restaurant in the North End. You may have to wait in line for a while to get in because it is so small but it is well worth the wait. Food is fantastic and the prices are great too. My husand and I love the butternut squash ravioli and the lobster ravioli. Must try it!!!
