Great Comfort Food for A Cold Night
By ,
Stumbled upon Thai Basil after strolling along Newbury in this cold November night. The restaurant were near empty and all four of us were briskly seated. We ordered the usual Thai staple: Tom Yam Goong, Pad Thai, Vegetarian Stir Fry, Pineapple Fried Rice and Mixed Seafood Basil in Spicy Gravy. We have a vegetarian among us, so we opted for seafood in all our orders. The food were quick to arrive. Being a regular Thai food fanatic in Thai Town, Hollywood, CA, the dishes were pretty good and the prices are generally reasonable for a Newbury location. Service was mediocre. the waitstaff were not conversant. We were not offered any desserts. We would return for dinner again if we could get a parking space.

Great Food, Service So So
By ,
We actually stumbled upon this TB while walking down Newbury. We really enjoyed the food. The service was ok but they never asked us if we wanted dessert and we were almost rushed a bit. The lights kept flickering on and off which was annoying but all in all, the restaurant and food were equally good. I will go there again next time I am in Boston.

Uber fresh seafood
By ,
I had a seafood hotpot on a cold winter day after a snow storm. It was just what I needed. Fresh ingredient, friendly service, convenient location. What else could one ask for?!

The food is pretty good but I have been ordering pick up there lately and I just checked my bank statement and realized that they have been systematically ADDING a 40% tip to an $11 order!!

hidden jewel on newbury!
By ,
The phuket noodles were awesome! Maybe just go ahead and skip the appetizers, 'cause the portions are pretty good and I wish I saved room for the fried ice cream or maybe the ginger ice cream! What a cheap eat for Newbury! The atmosphere could be great for a romantic date but also could be quite a relaxed atmosphere just for friends hanging out.

Great Thai food at a great price
By ,
The best Thai food in the Back Bay area. The food is tasty and seems to be authentic. The chairs should be more comfortable
