Abe & Louie's, Boston

I have never been a steak lover, but after ordering the bone-in filet mignon which was recommended by our great waiter. Everything was delicious, including the creamed spinach, asparagus and the creme brulee.........Wine selection was excellent as well.

My wife and I had lunch here this past Sunday 8/21/06, we have been told that it was the best steak house in Boston, after my wife ordered her Filet and we had 2 sides 1 of creamed spinach and 1 of potatoes, my wife had taken a bite of the creamed spinach and found a long dark hair, wrapped in the spinach side, I asked the waiter Bill to remove the side dish and told him what was found, he barely apoligized and when the filet was served my wife couldn't even enjoy her $28.oo steak, further more Bill offered a free desert, woppie shit, the meal should had been removed from the bill and I expected the manager to stop by the table and address the matter, nver happened. I was very disgusted with the whole meal etc, I have told many friends about the story and will continue to tell more.

The food, the atmosphere, the service, everything was amazing. I won't eat steak anywhere else! Definetly #1 for steak. There is not better restaurant than A & L's. If you love steak, go here!

The restaurant has a very elegant ambiance, the waiters/waitresses are professional and the food is excellent. A great place for a good impression on a date or a business partner.

Fabulous dining room - very Dante Ferretti, extraordinary service, and the food...forget about it!!! In this day and age of boring, franchised, monotony, the sublime working chaos of Abe and Louie's lunch and dinner rush is fantastic entertainment while you enjoy a cocktail and wait for your entree which is as good as you dream it could be. Seriously, if you don't get there while you're in town, then you've missed out on a great Boston experience.

I have been coming to this place for a few years now. It is by far the best steakhouse in the city. The service is excellent, with both front and back waiters. The Steak is terrific. I would highly recomment the NY sirloin. It is excellent. The decor is very inviting with intimate lighting and cozy leather chairs. I have been to most of the competition in the city, and this by far exceeds them all.

With all the raves we had heard about this restaurant, we eagerly looked forward to a relaxing, romantic dinner with great food. We were very disappointed. Nothing disasterous happened, but the steak was nowhere near the quality it should have been. We knew the prices would be high-end, but we expected to get what we paid for. We didn't. The decor and atmosphere is still as great as it was when it was, previously, J.C. Hillary's and Baraschi's long before that. It is a spot we have known well over the years, but the latest resident left us vowing not to return -- there are just too many other places that have far better food for the money.

I have eaten steak in 6 continents, 38 states, and 9 countries and I have never had a steak that tasted better than the one I had at Abe and Louies. This place tops Gene and Georgetti's, the Chicago Chop House, Ruth Chris and countless other top-tier restaurants in other countries. Point blank, it is fantastic. I have been there four times and I have not been able to order anything outher than steak. Sure it is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. For that special occasion, Abe and Louie's is your place in the Northeast. We are driving to Abe and Louies from New Hampshire tonight to celebrate our anniversary! It is that good.

Good service, good food at a fair price. What more can you ask for?

I've eaten at all the steak houses in Boston and keep coming back to Abe & Louie's. They all have a good steak but time after time I've never been disappointed here.
