Abe & Louie's, Boston

Ate here at a family gathering and loved it. Awesome ivy wall, great atmosphere and decor. You can eat outside or inside and the service is very attentive! Most importantly the food was excellent. Great place for a couple or family style!

HORRIBLE! I have never written a review until today, but feel like I have to share. The service was horrible, we had a reservation for our anniversary and were sat at a table/bench with people to our left and right almost sitting right on top of us. The couple to our right was wasted and caused a huge scene! Our dinner was ruined and the Management team did nothing but to say "sorry". We spent over $300 that night and had a horrible time. The steak was good, but the lobster casserole, lobster mac & cheese and just about everything else was bad. We sent an email to them letting them know of our experience and received no response. We will never go back. Top of the Hub is still our favorite for food, environment and service.

Worst service I have had in years. Very disorganize with the seatings, spent 40 minutes before got seated while at least three tables were free for the whole time. Service was extremely slow and food was not worth the wait.

This place is absolute crap. I've eaten at as many as 30 "high end" steak places around the world - this is one of the worst. Two stars because the food was actually very good - but the service was horrible - our dinner came before our drinks, the waiter disappeared, only show back up at the table and say they were out of that bottle of wine! Air conditioning didn’t work in the place so it was hot as hell. Everyone talked about this place being so over the top, but for the money you would be better at Morton’s, Grille 23, or the Capital Grill, this place was a HUGE disappointment

Have only had a burger there, but it was sublime. Excellent quality meat, and cooked perfectly how I ordered it.

This place is to die for! If there is any steak you must get it is the bone-in filet of beef. The waitstaff was super

disappointment, not bvecause the food is not good, it is but for that price, I rather go to Ruth Chris.one steak out of 4 was well done, (we ordered it as medium) , when we asked to replace it, the waiter (was not nice the whole evening) bent down, took a knife and pick up the steak trying to see if it is well down, said somethign to himself and took the steak.when we got the new one, he visit us few times to see if we are eatining it

The tables for two are so close together that they had a tough time trying to fill the table next to us ( they never did seat anyone there ) however, the food and service were excellent. Abe & Louie's has a more intimate ambiance than Smith & Wollensky's which we also enjoyed during our visit to Boston, and the service was certainly better at Abe & Louie's as well. A local suggested Grill 23 which we will save for our next visit.

Update on review that follows:Finally got here in person.Worth the money!! Far far better than Morton's!!! Best filet I have had good flavor cooked perfectly. I will return.......I had not eaten at Abe and Louie's but I sent a bottle of champagne to a couple who had just gotten engaged, and I told the person I ordered the champagne from. The restaurant went all out to make it a special evening. .

Great place for the perfect steak. Its a Boston classic and the food is always wonderful. Great bar that is always full. I've always had a an amazing meal there.
