Honestly. I think this is the best pizza in the North End. I love the thin crusted pizza and the staff are really nice. I am a resident of the North end and I love ordering food from them. Their salads are also very fresh and come with a good variety of vegetables. The also offer decent prices and a variety of beer.
I was out for a bike ride with a friend and we went cruising through the North End. We rode down Hanover Street and contemplated the restaurants there - we needed something a little more casual. We stumbled across Pushcart and it was just perfect! We each had a slice - the pizza was excellent! It was a nice little place with a friendly guy at the bar (Angelo?) and a very attentive waitress. Plenty of sports on the TVs and cold beer - what more could you ask for?! I highly recommend Pushcart - you won't be disappointed!
I work downtown and like to haunt little out-of-the way, unassuming places and give them a try. I ducked into this place for a quick slice one day and I met Angelo. What a friendly guy! He was more than accomodating, serving me a huge slice (delicious!) and a cold beer and some of the best conversation I'd had in a long time. I met Jerry Disco, a local construction laborer, who had great things to say about Angelo and the Pushcart...definitely a hidden jewel and definitely worth the trip :)
After a hard day at work, this is a great place to go relax and unwind. The pizza is excellent, great drinks and the atmosphere make you feel right at home. I can bring my friends to sit and watch the game, have a slice and drink a glass of wine.
I am not one for bars, but Pushcart has such a homely feel and friendly staff. I can also order a pie and take it home on those days I don't feel like cooking.
We stumbled upon the Pushcart after skipping the long line at Pizzeria Regina. We were not expecting much but to our surprise everything was great. Being a restaurant owner myself, I'm a pretty tough sell and difficult to impress but it really was a neat little place. The staff was very attentive ( I dropped my napking and within seconds the cook came bolting out of the kitchen with a new one), ther was playoff football on the tv, great casual atmosphere and the pizza was VERY good. Maybe not the best of Boston but definitely better than anything where I live in the suburbs. My only complaint was that I wish they were a little more generous with the pour of red wine...kind of skimpy for $7. Still worth a visit though.
