Bella Vista Restaurant, Boston

My friend and I visited Bella Vista after a Red Sox game and we were not disapointed. The food was outrageously delicious! I can't say enough about my meal. Chicken Villanese. It was awesome. Well worth the price. My friend selected the eggplant and veal Parmesian with pasta. Very large portions. Freshly prepared. Loved this restaurant. Would return without question.

The owners are rude. They serve simple but authentic Italian fare that is relatively inexpensive and tastes good. The good news is the bad attitude of the owners results in less of a wait than other places on Hanover Street! If you can laugh off the owners you will have a good meal without much wait. Poor for service (specifically the owners who usually seat you and often serve) but Good in terms of food quality.

Not a warm and fuzzy kind of place as far as the service goes but I didn’t go there to make friends. I went there for a good meal and my family and I were not disappointed. Hot bread, great food and good wine, life doesn’t get any better. We do plan on returning in the future.

I accidentally stumbled upon this unassuming restaurant many years ago and loved it so much I have gone back every time I've been in Boston since. The servers, while not as peppy as your average olive garden variety, are always prompt and friendly. Everything I've ordered there has been fantastic- my favorite dish by far is the fettucine carbonara, which I haven't been able to order anywhere else that tastes as good. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want an authentic Italian experience and wonderful food.

While it's not the chicest or most romantic restaurant in the North End, Bella Vista does a great job serving up heaping portions of freshly prepared homestyle meals. Try the Chicken Villanese; you get a huge chicken breast covered with clams, mushrooms, and perfectly sauteed large shrimp. Most of their chicken and veal entrees cost just 16 dollars and come with a large side order of pasta along with vegetables and potato. You might have to wait a few minutes at the door, but the high quality food at really low prices makes the wait worth it. Just skip the dessert and espresso at Bella Vista and head up the block to either Mike's Pastries or Modern Pastry.

I felt like I entered an episode of The Sopranos when I recently went to La Bella Vista on vacation. The owner had a bunch of mobster types hanging around the back with him. When we walked in he seemed barely interested in helping us as he looked up from his newspaper. I thought that someone was gonna get whacked at any minute. NEVER go to this place. Owner is rude, service is terrible and the food is subpar.

I was in the North End about a year ago, which was the weekend of the World Cup. The area was pumped and extremely busy, as Italy was playing the next day. We walked into Bella Vista and immediately got a table in the front open-aired window. We couldn't have asked for a better table. I ordered the spaghetti, which I swear, was the best I've ever had in my entire life! I'm still thinking about it. Our waiter was fantastic -- very, very attentive. I'm going back to Boston next week and have already planned my next vist to Bella Vista -- I can't wait!!!
