Pagliuca's Restaurant Incorporated

Description

Pagliuca's Restaurant is another one of the very small Italian restaurants that calls the North End home. Pagliuca's serves traditional Italian cuisine which is standard home-style fare with several antipasto choices and many pasta selections. The menu also features some quality seafood or chicken entrees. There isn't much in the way of atmosphere here with paper place mats on the tables and linoleum-covered floors but the food and prices more than make up for it. Alcohol is served.

Worst dining experience we can remember. Possibly drunk rude non-existent waitress. Frozen food at the supermarket is much better. Tiny soupy portions, really bad. The waitress even charged us for all the stuff she forgot to bring us. Then sat forever waiting to straighten out the bill with a busboy (waitress never came back, ever.) We really felt that they should be paying us instead. As bad as it gets. Warn everyone to stay far away, please.

Just like most all of the restaurants in the North End today Pagliuccas gouges the patrons. $20 for a side-order plate of pasta with garlic and olive oil? I mean, really. A bill for 7 people, including 3 kids, where the kids had pasta dishes and 4 adults who had either tripe or chicken with their pasta and four house wines-----$300 with tip? Gimme a break. I remember when Pagliuccas put out a great meal at affordable prices.

My husband called this place today. We will be in Boston in two weeks for our 1st year ann. We wanted to eat here and wanted to make sure we had a reservation. When he called he was rudely told they don't do reservations for only two people and they hung up the phone without another word. Very rude.

I took my wife here for her birthday. The food and service were excellent. Try the carbonara! A lot of Italian restaurants use too much egg. Pagliuca's does it perfect! You'll love the atmoshere, too. We're definitely coming back next time were in Boston!

Delight for the Tastebuds
By G T, 4/23/08
I have been eating at this restaurant now for over 10 years and with almost no exceptions, every meal I have there is excellent. One of the few legitimate complaints is that the service is sometimes slow, depending on the waitress. Yet, once you get to know people there, you are family. Any possible complaint is moot once the food comes out!! The negative reviews on here about the food are simply false; I presume written by people who consider Wendy's a fine dining experience. The simple pasta dishes are not spectacular, but any entree will wow you; I particularly recommend the Veal Saltimbocca. Other favorites are the Hot Antipasto and the Chicken or Pork Chops with Roasted Potatoes and Vinegar Peppers. Finish that off with some of the best tiramisu in the North End and you will have a meal you won't soon forget.

Better than Expected! I took my 2 girlfriends there on a sat. night for a gals nite out. it's a fav of my co-workers so I thought I'd see for myself. At 1st, we were met by a tall somber looking fella with a shaved head who turned out to be the host. I will say, he was quite accomodating despite his unprofessional and offputting appearance. nothing fancy about the atmosphere inside either, but I will say the food was incredible! The best eggplant parm I ever had and my friend's Alfredo dish was amazing. The price was right, too. We split 2 appetizers, a nice bottle of wine, dessert, the works! hands down, Pagliuca's was definitly a pleasant surprise! If you like food better than frills, ret here!

Start with the Salad which features good size chunks of cheese and light olive oil dressing. Then dip your fresh bread into a dish of extra virgin olive oil while you wait for your meal.Your can't go wrong with the mussels over a bed of pasta in garlic and oil...All served by hard-working friendly folks which makes your time there special ! oh- and go back often....Enjoy !!
