Pagliuca's Restaurant Incorporated
Pagliuca's Restaurant is another one of the very small Italian restaurants that calls the North End home. Pagliuca's serves traditional Italian cuisine which is standard home-style fare with several antipasto choices and many pasta selections. The menu also features some quality seafood or chicken entrees. There isn't much in the way of atmosphere here with paper place mats on the tables and linoleum-covered floors but the food and prices more than make up for it. Alcohol is served.
Pag's is my favorite restaurant in the North End and that is why I cannot believe some of these bad reviews! You go into Pag's and is a friendly Italian atmosphere. It is not a restaurant that you can go into quickly and grab a nice dinner or have a nice romantic dinner (depending on the time). When going to Pag's you need to plan on having a nice, long, enjoyable, homemade Italian dinner with all the fixings of Italy. Enjoy the homemade red wine, Michael's Special and delicious Chicken Felix! Wash it all down with Zambuca and homemade Tiramisu. Go and have a great night of food, wine and laughs with your friends or spouse, it's worth it!! I am actually heading there this evening!
Pagliuca's is my favorite restaurant in the North End, and quite possibly in all of Boston. It might take a little while to get seated, but the service is extremely efficient and the food is totally worth the wait. You know it's authentic because even the Italians in Boston are always eating at the place. I love Pagliuca's and would encourage anyone interested in great Italian food and a true Italian ambiance to visit.
Before leaving for our little weekend vacation in Beantown, USA, I nosed around online trying to narrow down our Italian restaurant possibilities. I came across Pagliuca's and after reading the reviews, I knew I was not leaving Boston without making a stop there. MMMMMmmmmmmmm!!!!!!! Awesome food, pleasant people, and cozy surroundings - I loved the brick walls and old Italian atmosphere. Will never visit Boston again without stopping by 14 Parmenter Street. Next time I'm ordering something Alfredo-ish - I can taste it already!
We are from nearby Connecticut. We dine out often and enjoy many different cuisines. My wife also happens to be Italian and is a gourmet cook. We looked forward to a great Italian meal in the North End on our recent trip to Boston. Read the many great reviews on this restaurant and couldn't wait to try it. Feel compelled to write that we found the meal to be very average in quality and quantity. The place itself was cute and the service was fine, but definitely not worth the trip.
I had lunch at Pagliuca's this past Sunday. It was my second time there and once again, Superb. I had the linguini with red clam sauce and it was fantastic. The wait staff works as a team to take care of you. You get the whole staff not just one waiter or waitress. The place is small and cozy. Maybe a bit cramped at times and the large air conditioner in the wall keeps it comfortable but also a bit loud. However, I went to Boston for other reasons but made a point to visit them again and will probably go each time I am in the city.
Pagliuca's quiet and quaint atmosphere truly defines the North End. As far as the food goes, whether its appetizers, entrees, or desserts, phenomenal is the choice word. The North End is home to many of Boston's best restaurants but Pagliuca's takes the cake. If excellent service, incredible portions, and absolutely delicious food arent what you're looking for, then Pagliuca's is not the place for you. On a final note, I've read the other reviews and felt that this restaurant wasn't given the appropriate credit so I took action, bottom line if you're looking for orgasm on a fork; this is the place to be!
We had a wonderful meal and a great server. We went for lunch. That was the first time. Since then we have gone back several times and recommended it to friends and not so friends. All who have gone to eat there have given us positive feedback.
This place is the perfect North End restaurant. Delicious, authentic Italian food (in massive portions), in a small, intimate, charming dining room, at an unbelievably low price (around $10-18 for entrees). Not as fancy or scene-y as some places in the North End, but I think it feels more charming and genuine because of it (it isn't a dive, it just isn't going for the pretension factor). This is my favorite date/friend-from-out-of-town restaurant in the North End.
