Description

Pagliuca's Restaurant is another one of the very small Italian restaurants that calls the North End home. Pagliuca's serves traditional Italian cuisine which is standard home-style fare with several antipasto choices and many pasta selections. The menu also features some quality seafood or chicken entrees. There isn't much in the way of atmosphere here with paper place mats on the tables and linoleum-covered floors but the food and prices more than make up for it. Alcohol is served.

Worst dining experience we can remember. Possibly drunk rude non-existent waitress. Frozen food at the supermarket is much better. Tiny soupy portions, really bad. The waitress even charged us for all the stuff she forgot to bring us. Then sat forever waiting to straighten out the bill with a busboy (waitress never came back, ever.) We really felt that they should be paying us instead. As bad as it gets. Warn everyone to stay far away, please.

Just like most all of the restaurants in the North End today Pagliuccas gouges the patrons. $20 for a side-order plate of pasta with garlic and olive oil? I mean, really. A bill for 7 people, including 3 kids, where the kids had pasta dishes and 4 adults who had either tripe or chicken with their pasta and four house wines-----$300 with tip? Gimme a break. I remember when Pagliuccas put out a great meal at affordable prices.

My husband called this place today. We will be in Boston in two weeks for our 1st year ann. We wanted to eat here and wanted to make sure we had a reservation. When he called he was rudely told they don't do reservations for only two people and they hung up the phone without another word. Very rude.

We made reservations for 6 at 730 and we showed up around 7. Although we had a reservation we had to wait over an hour for a table because they seated 2 smaller parties that walked in after us before we were seated. It was way too loud and way too crowded. I work as a server so I understand that sometimes its just simply not anyones fault. I really enjoyed how everyone seemed to take care of you, the hostess was even working her butt off.

Southern Italian at its best. If you do not see it on the menu you only need to ask and they will do everything to accommodate you. The only true red sauce restaurant in the North End, it does not try to be anything else just the best which they have achieved.

Awful!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/23/09
This place was terrible, i haven't had this bad of italian food in a long time. I have way better food in a college dinning hall. The pasta was over cooked the eggplant parm was so mushy and grease, the veal tasted like it had been there freezer for over a year and the fact is nothing was seasoned at all. Please don't ever go here. Not to mention this place was way over priced.

This place is terrible, the zagats should be ashamed that they let this restaurant get away with a 24 more like a 14. I work as a cook in restaurants and i have eaten better eggplant parm in a college dorm dinning hall. plus this place is way over price. Do not ever go here!!!!

This is the kind of place where if you ask the people at the next table what that great looking dish is, they will probably offer to share it. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good to very good food at reasonable prices. I would go back, but I won't re-order the lobster raviolis in a pink sauce, I couldn't taste what the raviolis were stuffed with. But I did like the sauce.
