South Street Diner
South Street Diner (formerly the Blue Diner) was built in 1947 by the Worcester Dining Company to serve local factory workers. Over the years, the Diner has become a local landmark, a constant in Boston's after-hours scene and a final evening destination for local residents, students and visitors. When the clubs close, the Diner is the place to grab something to eat, hang out with friends, celebrity watch, and keep the party going. No visit to Boston is complete without a stop to the South Street Diner.
A diner in Boston is like an oasis in the desert to me. Being from New York, where there's a diner on every street corner, I'm always jonesing for a good one. This little spot appeared to us at about 2:00 in the morning while trying to locate a friend's car. We were already thrilled just to have found it, but even happier to find that the waitstaff was AWESOME (great, friendly people) and the food was right on! Just about any appetizer/sandwich/burger/breakfast food you could want after drinking/dancin' the night away. We'll be back!
