Lucca North End
Lucca has become one of the most talked about restaurants in Boston. Zagat survey names them, 'Best New Italian Restaurant' and they won a coveted Best of Boston award for their elegant and lively bar. Whether you join them for a relaxing dining experience or a little later for cocktails and to sample their late night menu, you will be won over by Lucca's elegant charm and warm ambiance.
The restaurant was nicely decorated, with a wondrful atmosphere.
Service was terrific, our wait staff was helpful and attentive.
Now for the best part, the food...
When visiting Boston we have tried many of the North End hot spots, but by far this is the Best we've experienced.
I just happened to have ordered the Pasta with sausage, and it could hardly be called mac & cheese. Please! I can't wait to go back.
All four in my party, which included two pre-teens, cleaned their plates.
Do I need to say More?
Disappointed in this highly recommended restaurant. The service was terrible. Our waitress was more interested in an adjacent large group rather than our table of four.
I ordered a glass of Chianti, which was never served. I told the waitress I never received my wine, yet it STILL appeared on the bill.
We expressed our dissatisfaction to the restaurant's management, however their response was less than apologetic. We chose not to stay for dessert and coffee.
The entire experience proved to be much less than satisfactory and I therefore would not recommend this restaurant.
Had their filet mignon over risotto, just a few weeks ago, and thought the flavors were superb. I would disregard the poor review. My only complaint is that I wish they had a more diverse selection of appetizers.
I order pasta with sausage and it looked and tasted like Anne's Mac and Cheese with a couple of pieces of sausage with breadcrumbs on top. This cost 25 dollars. So very bad, very expensive, small potions.
As a regular at this beautiful restaurant, I have consistently had great experiences at Lucca. The food is always delicious, sometimes divinely so- (the mushroom and potato appetizer is a must-order, as is the chocolate torte). The atmosphere and the impeccable service make this a great first date place; you're sure to score points for your great taste!
