Description

On busy Hanover Street in the North End , this small, bright restaurant serves simple Italian food. The small tables, exposed brick and yellow trim make this establishment feel cozy and intimate. Try the pan-fried Italian greens or shrimp toscana to begin your meal. Entrees include chicken marsala, spaghetti bolognese and veal piccata. The spinach lasagna is a vegetarian option. The specialties of the housethe chicken and veal cibo are marinated with delights of mushrooms, spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. The restaurant also serves beer and wine.

Great food for the price: 18$ for shrimp, clams, mussles and scallops in Diablo sauce is a deal. Not the cleanness but the price is right:

the best place !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/30/07
like any ather restaurantCibo has to deal with CHEEP and DEMANDING clients. when you come to this restaurant , you have good food, good service if you don't consider your self a VIP. and try to live a decent TIP , that will be a 18 % . i have been there and i think is the best place in North end!!! good food and you don't have to wait long in line. the staff is doing the best for you!! by going in and ask how long for a table of 3 ... the wait time will be longer.you do not help the staff!!! thank you!! we'l be back!!!

What a great evening
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/25/07
We were visiting from Georgia and stopped in for dinner. I am Italian, and do not often go to Italian restaurants. CIBO was different. It all tasted homemade. I felt like I was eating at my grandmothers!

great restuarant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/7/06
don't belive the haters on this review site. very good food at a nice price for the north end. make a reservation and there's no wait. good service as well. if you are hard to please and snooty don't come here--wait staff is busy but does a good job--they will not cater to your every need.

al fredo sauce 2 die 4
By Theodore, 4/23/06
We stumbled in by accident and were treated well. Our server accomodated my 6 and 10 year olds' quirky eating habits well. Calamari with peppers was out of this world. Al fredo sauce was the best I've tasted. Bill for 4 with appetizers and wine was reasonable. No dessert, but several great bakeries with in a block or two... try mike's. I'd go back again and again.

Disappointing
By Erin, 2/25/06
Bad bread, greasy pasta. We had to ask our waitress for bread, when she brought five miniscule slices for the 6 people at our table, we had to ask for more. Same disappointly weak and meager slices appeared. The red pasta sauce was very greasy and lacked flavor. I just wasn't impressed at all.

AMAZING PLACE!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/11/06
This restaurant is wonderful! My husband and I live in the North end and have eaten just about everywhere here. Thus far, Cibo remains our top pick for taste, ambience, and value. The food is wonderful...especially the Spinach Salad and Pasta dishes!!
