Pellino's is owned by Frank Pellino and is a place for fine dining. The restaurant is warm and cozy, and has a quaint feel to it. The restaurant sports five trellised booths against the wall and a dining area that is raised and over looks the street. This is a great place for a romantic dinner and can also be rented to hold special events. The tables are covered with linen, have fresh flowers and candlelight. The food is regional Italian with a bend towards northern Italian flavors. The la caprese, tagliatelle Bolognese, veal pellino, and their special coffee with cognac, cappuccino and amaretto are certainly worth a try.
What a wonderful restaurant, very romantic. loved the eggplant parmesean!!!
Service was wonderful, very attentive. I love the new bar. Their bread and foccaccia are
homemade and served with an eggplant dip that is terrific. Try the chicken Bianco..lemon and white wine sauce with roasted peppers and olives-very tasty but light.
This was the best Italian restaurant I had been to in a long time. The food was excellent, our waitress was attentive, and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely eat there again. The rack of lamb I ordered was delicious, and the chocolate lava cake we were encouraged to order was excellent as well. The only downside is that Marblehead is difficult to get to and we had some trouble finding the restaurant, but ultimately worth the commute.
I loved my experience at this restaurant. It is not a 'pasta-and-meatballs' place, it serves more upscale Italian cuisine. The food was incredible and the service was great. And the chocolate volcano cake was by far the best desert I have ever eaten.
I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking a romantic evening out.
The food, although not inexpensive, is quite worth the price. A comfortable and cozy restaurant, where each dish is prepared so decadently. Every aspect of our experience was most enjoyable from the wonderful selection of wine to the warmed apricot souffl
Tucked in a too-small space in Dowtown Marblehead is a gem of an Italian restaurant. You can be well-assured that every dish you order here will be excellent. But as mentioned before, it's tight-- both physically and sometimes to get a reservation.
Great place for a date.
While I gave Pellino's a 4 star rating, it would have been 5 stars two years ago. The food is still very good, though it used to be excellent in past years. Perhaps there is a new chef. The waitstaff used to be superb; the last 2 times there, I had young people of college age who were just fair. Most of the long-time waitstaff seems to have moved on. It can be a very romantic restaurant. The food is pricey, but that is because the food is good. Prices are not at the outrageous levels one finds in overpriced steak houses. Salads are not included with the meal, but are very good. The chocolate dessert is wonderful, but needs to be ordered with the rest of the meal to be cooked in time.
