I frequently visit and tonight I dined at the Middlesex Street location.
Start with fresh limeade. This location has a bar if you want something stronger.
The selection of appetizers includes low fat spring rolls (with vegetarian option), egg rolls, teriyaki, as well as, the interesting shrimp paste on sugar cane; all are tasty.
For an entree, a favorite of mine is the vermicelli with grilled chicken (28) which I order without the bean sprouts (food sensitivity). The big bowl is a delicious meal and I like the mint!
Now the lomein (38) has mushrooms and that is not listed on the menu. The stir fried yellow noodles with vegetables and choice of grilled meats is tasty. One of my dining friends prefers the grilled chicken that comes with #28 over the stir fried chicken and sometimes asking for a substitution is successful.
The chicken with cashew nuts (82) is cooked with a variety of vegetables: broccoli, cauliflower, celery, et cetera and mushrooms and served with steamed white rice.
Service is courteous and prompt, take out is available, and the water glass gets filled without prompting.
I have tried the tri-colored dessert and was warned that it was not the typical American type dessert and they were correct, but it was worth trying.
Will return for the vermicelli or even to try something else on the menu.
They actually have 2 locations: one on Middlesex St, which we usually go to, and one on Chelmsford St. Friendly waitstaff, great atmosphere...awesome fish tank in the middle of the restaurant. There are so many choices on the menu to choose from! The restaurant is a combination of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai food. I went there with my boyfriend on a date. He had lobster with ginger and scallions for $17.95. I ordered fried calamari as appetizer and traditional beef noodle soup (also called Bun Bo Hue, for $7.95). The lobster was very fresh and tasty. The calamari ($11.95) was crunchy and spicy and good at the same time, served on a bed of fresh watercress, lettuce, and slices of jalepeno peppers. The noodle soup was very flavorful and filling, served with fresh bean sprouts, shredded cabbage, and basil. I also absolutely love the avocado bubletea, and my boyfriend loves the 33 Vietnamese beer. I strongly recommend this place. We are regulars there and eat at least once a week there.
By the way, they have a full bar. My boy usually get the mojito mixed drink there in the summer. Very refreshing!
The staff is rude and the food just ok. I eat a lot of Pho, and this was just ok. They have a good selection of Beer on the menu until you try and order one and they don't even carry most. I went there because of the website made it sound great. Somewhat disappointed.
This is definitely the best Vietnamese restaurant in town!! The food was great and the service was timely and proper. The menu offers a variety of entrees under $10!!!
My girlfriend and I ordered authentic Vietnamese spring roll dipped in the most delicious peanut sauce as an appetizer. For the entrees, we had a wonderful bowl of chicken noodle soup, it was both tasty and filling. We also had a steamed Sea Bass server on hot pot platter. It was a beautiful presentation. The bass fresh and tender meat was enhanced by the great sauce and its salivating aroma.
In addition the well decorated and spacious dining room gives offers a refreshing experience to any customer (Great place to bring your significant other)! I encourage anyone to try, and you will be amazed with this unique dining experience.
This is easily my favorite restaurant in Lowell. The food is fabulous and the prices are fantastic. The wait staff there is helpful and the service time is fast. My room mate and I go there almost every time we go out to eat. They have great vegetarian and vegan options and is all around a fun place to be. If you haven't been here yet, you need to go ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!
