I love this place. The food is actually pretty good, the drinks are generous and the atmosphere is about as close to the set of big trouble in little china as you can get.
Seriously, I was expecting Jack burton to sit down at the bar next to me the whole time.
The service is average with some of the waiters being on the rude side. Not sure if thats a language thing or not but its easy - tip light for lousy service.
I usually eat at the bar or in the bar area unless the DJ is there- it gets a little too loud to think and watching the Lowell and Chelmsford natives perform their ritual 'lay me lay me desperately' mating dance is usually enough to ruin any appetite.
Hong Kong has been around forever. My family would get Chinese here all the time back in the day (the nineties). This place really isn't that spectacular. First off, they don't even have General Gau chicken. That is a huge for me. General Gau is the best American-style chinese dish ever and they don't even have it. Also, their crab rangoon is horrid. The drinks are weak and expensive. I only stop in here every few months if I decide to get a drink on a late weekday night. I still see this places going strong in the future because of the local drunks that come here but thats about it. Seriously, Hong Dong, get your Goon and Gau right, and you may see a revival.
This place has awesome food, drinks, and entertainment! There is a great lounge areas for the 21+ people who like to dance, drink, and hear good music. They have great portions of chinese food for a great price!! I have had an excellent time everything time I have been there! LOVE IT!
Overall, Hong Kong restaurant is a great place to eat. Their food is very good and the service is great. Only had bad service one time, when the waiter took over $20 in tip for a $40 meal. lol. Oh well, it was still worth it. They have the best hot and sour soup, and their spicy chicken wings are superb. And if you're a drinker and dining with lots of friends, I recommend the large scorpion bowl. its awesome!
