Great Food and Overpriced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/24/06
I go to Zinc often because I like the atmosphere and the food. But let's face it, the place is terribly overpriced...You can't get out of there without spending about $140 or $150 for 2 with some wine and dessert. I pay it, but I wince.

Best Spot in the Berkshires
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/19/06
After spending 20+ years in the berkshires, it was with great relief to find out that this restaurant exists. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere allows for a cosmopolitan feel in the berkshire mountains. The whole experience is sophisticated and a pleasure. This is not a place to go if you are looking for cheap eats but it is definitely not overpriced for the overall food and experience.

Restaurant with an attitude
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/2/05
Service was very bad, and food was over priced. I cannot believe that I stayed at a dirty Cornell Inn and that I went to this restaurant. The whole experience was awful in Lenox except for a a very nice Inn that we checked in after leaving Cornell Inn. Bistro zinc has a most unpleasant seating arrangement. You can hear the next table talk. Food had a potential, but our server was so slow that when the food arrived it was very cold. We complained to the maneger, howevever he was not very accomodating and told us if we did not like what they do, we we can go somewhere else.

The best in Lenox...French restaurant...Zinc...
By Hugo, 7/26/05
For my husband and I, every summer sounds like Tanglewood and Bistro Zinc in Lenox. Since they opened in 1999, we go twice a week for the july and august and it is always better and better. And I thought that we go so many times, I should add comments on internet. Last time, my husband had French steak tartare, and even in NYC where there are many French restaurant, i could not get a such tartar with fresh meat like that. Then he had a steak with French Fries ( I tried to tell him it was too much meat in a meal but ...whatever.....) maybe it's because I am a vegeterian so i started with the pea and mint soup warm but so refreshing during the summer. And I took a wonderfull vetetable pot pie, fresh vegetables and mushrooms.....so good. We shared the profiteroles which are just huge, one portion is far enough for two people. So that's it, I recommend to book in advance, because this place is just packed in summer, you can not go in without any reservation except if you are lucky but I always book one month in advance. Just go, and you'll see how gorgeous is the ambiance, staff is nice, friendly, very helpfull for the French wines. The place is a bit pricy, but I have never been disapointed so...it worth it!
