Woodbury Ski Area offers downhill skiing serviced by three rope tows, a double chair, and two carpet lifts, plus 20 miles of cross-country trails and a snowboard park. There is a very good ski school, plus several racing programs. A 380-foot-long carpet lift services cross-country skiers and snowshoers in addition to alpiners and snowboarders. ActivitiesSnowboarding: Woodbury was the first ski area in the country to promote and allow snowboarding. Two halfpipes, and a quarterpipe. Lessons and rentals available.Cross Country Profile: More than 20 miles of touring trails on-site and at nearby Steep Rock Park ranging from relaxing to challenging.LodgingMore than 80 rooms within a 10-mile radius, including hotels, motels, and 5-star inns.Winter RecreationNearly 100 acres of challenging terrain for skiers, snowboarders, and cross-country skiers. Sledding and tubing park with dedicated lift. Three new tubing chutes and four new trails. Racing, cross-country. Woodbury's area towns offer shopping and entertainment venues close-by, with New Haven and Yale a mere 45 minutes away. It's 25 miles to Danbury; New York City is just an hour's drive.
