Safety First? Not here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/2/11
The place is a hill - but what do you expect, it is in CT! HOWEVER, the folks that run the establishment have no sense of safety (only place in CT without a Ski Patrol) or just plain old good decent behavior. Started the day with high hopes for a day of skiing and tubing and ended the day calling the police, who called the fire marshal, to determine if they needed to shut the place down. Unfortunately they were actually running in terms of "acceptable" safety standards - tell that to the boy that fell 25' from a lift chair cushioned by all of the customers who came to help. The staff? They ran away. The owner? He says he watched it from the window in his office but was told no one was hurt so didn't feel the need to come and check it out.

Not worth the wait.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/23/11
My family and I traveled to this ski resort to do some night tubing. We were surprised to find that the people who run this "establishement" don't know when and when not to run a rope tow/carpet. The line was backed up to the farthest trail and no one did anything about it. They ran out of tubes and all of them were disformed, frozen, or deflated. The rope tow goes faster than the carpet, yet they refused to keep it going because of the family tubes and doubles. They had to shut down half of the mountain early because of poor lighting and someone went off of a jump and did a nosedive. The rope tow was open for 30 minutes when it was so crowded and they wanted to "save energy". The parking was poor and they had no spots. We had to wait for a spot to be open. The ticket prices are outrageous and you have to pay an extra 32 dollars to get a family tube. BEWARE! Do not go unless you want to spend 111 dollars on 3 people.

This place was easy to get to from NY and had nice tubing and skiing. It wasn't too crowded either. The parking really sucked - it was just off of a warm day the day before and it was MUDDY. They need to pave it.
