Since its acquisition by Booth Creek Resorts, Waterville has received many upgrades. Its village core is one of the first in the East and the mountain's 2,000-foot vertical drop is exceptionally appealing. Clarification about late 09-10 season
By ,
I have read the past two reviews and would like to say that this year was a bad snow season for Waterville. In the beginning of the season, the mountain did have to create its own snow, but their budget ran out toward the middle of the season because usually they get more snow and do not need to blow it. The mountain itself is delightfully challenging and large compared to those south of it (besides maybe Gore), but overall, in a good season, Waterville Valley is a great place to ski.

Love This Area
By ,
I read Catherine's review of 2/8, & she must have just had a bad day. Waterville went about 6 weeks without a good storm, but those folks know how to make snow, & they REALLY know how to groom a MT. I've spent 3 long weekends there recently (since 2/8) & can't say enough about the MT & the amenities. Best bartender on the planet is Geoff @ T-Bars, & the Wild Coyote may be the best restaurant in any ski resort in the Northeast. Harpo

Not Planning On Returning Anytime Soon...
By ,
Skied Waterville 2/8/10. Not planning on returning anytime soon; rocks turned up in trails, trail bare spots, to much ice and/or snow snakes, trails not well marked especially cross over trails, min. trails opened, narrow trails, gas fireplace w/o blower, baselodge stairs steep to up or down to restrooms. Nice ski shop although not own by Waterville (good thing).
