Very unprofessional staff, managers, owners
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/2/10
The owners are rude, and think who they are. The ski operators are all rude kids that yell at paid skiiers to get on or of the lifts. I am a avid skiier and went there with family because it was close by to where we were staying with friends. I would never spend my money there again! Place is very, very outdated, bad conditions, not groomed for a "skii mountain" , very unorganized when getting your tickets either for a day or a day with a lesson - no system. Everyone has to be on one line and moves slowly. The food is horrible and to eat inside is disgusting. A school cafeteria is more comfortable! We all were very disappointed for our fun skii day with friends. I know now to stay with Catamount, Jiminy Peak, Wyndum, CT mountains, Vermont. This place deserves not a nice word! They are not afraid to charge you with such bad conditions & unprofessional staff. Don't know how they stayed in business this long. You don't deserve a snowflake ever!

dont go here, its small , crowded and just way to over priced for what you get. and dont listen to them they say all the trails are open untill you get there and there only like 3 open and there the smallest one. save your money drive a little futher and have a better time at a different better moutian.

great fun for the kids
By Richard, 1/18/10
The place is great for kids. Though it is small and the natural snow fall is low, they have adequate snowmaking to cover the basic trails which are enough for beginners. What I go there for is the fact that it is reasonable and so do not feel like I am getting ripped off to get a half day of runs in on a saturday or sunday with my kids who are just learning to ski. Be warned that some weekends can get pretty crowded but if your go for twilight skiing there are a lot fewer people and a live band to boot (on Saturdays). If you are looking for resort type facilities or employees (though the ski school instructors are very nice), this is probably not the place for you. If you are looking for a day trip for the family without breaking the bank, this is a great place. Personally, I think it is just as good as anything in CT and to get a lot better you need to get up to Hunter, Butternut, Jiminy all about another hour or more away in which case you might as well make the trek to Mt. Snow.

I can wait to go back
By Dennis, 1/2/10
Why are so many of your lift operator's rude and just not happy doing their job. Not everyone is a good skier. I go there to learn to get better not to be yell at by your lift operator's. I've talk to my other friend's we are going to try ski area's in CT. It is cheaper and more friendly beginners. You just lost all our business have a slow year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Henry-Mike-Sue- Bethany-Arron-Paul-Judy- We are telling all are friend's not to go to Thunder Ridge not to go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thunder Ridge
By Brian, 12/31/08
I have been to thunder ridge many times because I live in Pawling. It is a good place if you have never gone skiing or snowboarding and just learning. But if you care about your equipment or looking for good conditions, this is not the place you want to go. The only good time is after a huge snow start like a couple weeks ago but it is already gone and they were not able to keep any of their snow. I suggest you go to some other place such as Catamount.
