Stowe, the grandaddy of all eastern ski resorts, provides quality skiing and riding for all levels of family abilities. The area's lift system includes a gondola to shuttle guests between Mount Mansfield and its "sister" mountain, Spruce Peak. This inter-mountain transfer lift provides transportation to and from the slopes at the bases of Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak - formally linking the two. The Poma ten-person standing gondola spans Vermont’s Route 108. The length of the ride between the two mountains is approximately 1,500 ft., with a minimum travel time of 1.5 minutes. The lift is capable of moving 3,400 people per hour to and from Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak.ActivitiesSnowboarding: Three terrain parks and a superpipe along with a range of mountain terrain is offered to satisfy riders of all abilities. Stowe was and still is Awesome!! Amazing hospitality (and diff options for lodging) its clean and nice and big! its got so many diff things to offer. the trails are great and there are so many different options as of trails! I didnt find there to be so many activities after the ski day was done.. It was my first time skiing in -30' weather! WOW it was sooooo beyond cold! freezing cold! the ski instructors were so great! everyone was nice warm and friendly! i would deffinitly go again.. except when its not below 30 outside! Enjoy! and bring along games to keep you busy after hours! *oh and its deff in the middle of no where, so make sure to pack up real well ahead of time.

Best of the East
By ,
Stowe is by far the best mountain to go to in the east. If you've never been to Stowe you need to go at least once. But be WARNED, once you go there every place else will seem crappy. And as for the town.... You've got to love a town where there is NO McDonalds!! Only some of the best restaurants you've gone to with reasonable prices. There really is nothing bad I could say about the place except, from where I live it takes 6 hours to get to.
