Love the new double blacks
By ,
Recently Sierra opened up a new area that's double-black, along with the already existing diamond routes there's several runs that aren't all groomed. Take a look at "East About" I've seen moguls there (this season) that were 7ft tall on the topside and more than 10ft tall on the back! Usually it's not quite that extreme, but it's never groomed, and always fun. The newly opened areas were full of virgin powder the two days I went, I was wearing my new powder skis and was still 12-16 inches deep, an amazing time. Although if you don't exit the run soon enough at the bottom you end up with a bit of up hill hiking.

Do we love this place or what?!!
By ,
First ski resort up Hwy 50. They will take care of your kids(lessons or childcare)...for most of the day...!!! call for reservation The food is some what good at the top of the mountain..graet view on a clear day. West Bowl side is almost all intermediate. Baja Cafe is not bad...the BBQ they had here was much better. Fairly well laid out resort. There ARE some challenging runs for black diamond folks...and no, they don't "groom" everything. They don't charge for parking...You can rent skis boots and poles for about $110 for the season...great for those growing kids! You can leave these skis there and not have to hall them home...Season pass $199 Sunday thru Friday...and that's a great deal.. Downside...motel/lodging is not on site, but they do offer shuddle servive from So Lake Tahoe. We continue to go year after year

Best in the area
By ,
I've been going here for years. Good variety of runs; begining to advanced, efficient lifts, beautiful views. This is the place for all types, nice clean and safe.
