Love it
By JENNIFER, 2/23/12
The service was fantastic, the younger kids working there went above and beyond to help me. I had my hands full but was offered assistance at every venue. I would most def bring my family back on that basis alone! The snowboard lessons my kids received was taught by a young man who loved what he was doing and while I observed the other instructors I found alot of enthusiasm and a real love for the job as well! Great experience I will bring my kids again!

Grooming
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/7/11
I have to agree with the comments on the lack of grooming this year, with close to 400 inches of snowfall, I cant understand why runs like, waterfall, huntington, cop out, west china bowl, east bowl, grouse creek, upper buckhorn and many others have not been groomed on a regular basis this year. Its a shame with this much potential terrain to ski that they don't try to get more of the mountain accessable.

After all these years, alittle disappointed.
By Chris, 3/2/11
We've skied China Peak every Presidents w-end for over 12 years and love it, but this year we were disappointed in the lack of grooming of the slopes. Yes there was heavy snow that w-end but we noticed two snow groomers working all day on one slope that was never open to the general public(for a special event?) that w-end. We hope this is not indicative of some change with the new owners.MIght consider Mammoth next year.

a good resort for central californians
By scott r, 1/7/11
this is my home resort, and it's not perfect, none of the runs are very long, 2.25 mi is the longest way down, all green. there are really no real double diamond runs, some tricky stuff, but not true expert stuff. all the lifts are old and slow with nothing bigger than 3 man lifts. All that said, on 5 out of 7 days, you will likely never wait in line after leaving the base in the morning, at least not more than a minute, usually just ski/ride up right to the loading areas. Also they tend to have pretty good snow, with good coverage and snow making when the weather doesn't cooperate. Under new management this year, i expect to see more improvements in the coming years. Already they have remodeled the hotel/lodge, gotten new food in the 3 diff mountain eateries/lodges and seem to be running the place more professionally than in the past. For the price, it's not bad, especially if you live within a 2 hour vicinity. I mostly enjoy the lack of lines though, so that's why I give it 4 stars

Very upset after Power outage
By RONALD, 3/2/10
When on 02/25/2010 and 0226/2010 all lifts stopped. Due to a power outage. Sierra Summit refused to refund any of the costs of the Lift Ticket. They advised they would allow the Tickets to be good for the rest of the season. ( at most 2 Months). Nor did they even offer to compensate for the additional cost of room and board. I also know they will file a claim for Lost INC. with South Ca Edison Maybe this is due the pending sale of Seirra Summit. I do not know. But to totally disreguard the cost incurred by myself and others is like being robbed. Ron
