We skiied at showdown recently and there was tons of powder! In fact we prefer groomed, but assumed that since they'd had a huge snowfall that week they'd let the powderhounds enjoy it. We hope to see a mix of both groomed and powder next time. It's a great place to ski and Ben and his team work hard to make sure you have a great time!
EVERYTHING is groomed. Not an inch of powder to be found on powder days. The groomer even runs during skiing hours. The ski patrol informed us that they are responsible for trail maintenance and making new trails. They won't work for free on their days off so no new trails are made or maintenance done. Their are no runs through the trees. Ski lifts are ancient but functional. Go elsewhere for powder, you won't find it here.
