Ober Gatlinburg, Gatlinburg

Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture but your Oktoberfest was a waste. The food was great but show had nothing to do with Oktoberfest- no oompah music or German songs. I can do the Chicken Dance here, I was so looking forward to some good German music. I would not recommend the Oktoberfest to others, they can go anytime of the year for the food.

We planned our trip to Gatlinburg to Coincide with the Oktoberfest. The food and service were great. We were totally disappointed with show. What does the Tennesseee Waltz have to do with Oktoberfest? We will return to Gatlinburg next year, but not to Ober Gatlinburg

Rode the Tram up to Ober Gatlinburg. The views were good, but once you arrive you realize that there's nothing to see or much for grown-ups to do once you get there. A few shops, a couple of kiddie rides, and as for the bear encounter. A few bears in a concrete hole is not worth $6/each to see.

Great snow!! First natural snow in awhile!! Ya some cry about the fake snow, but if you look they come up from Atlanta or Alabama! No disrespect, but Ober doesnt clame to be Brekenridge!!

Well, we didn't go for skiing but we went for the amusement park part. Mainly because I like skiing, but I love ski lifts and they have a HUGE one year round for just riding. Well, we rode up the huge aerial tram and saw the Barbie Dreamhouse (with Ken right next to her!) and we bought our tickets to stuff. Well, we went to that zoo thing and saw all the animals. Eh, not many. They have about 2 rides and the lift. Inside, an all round ice skating rink and a golf course. Eh, it wasn't too great. Not really for Summer or Spring, even Fall fun. OH Don't go if storms are there! They will shut down EVERYTHING. We stood in line for 2 hours while some 20 year old school buses were packed with people going up and down the mountain while it was pouring rain: safe huh? Don't go with rain.

Went for the weekend with my teenage kids,they wanted to learn to snowboard.Its a great place for them to learn , not expensive and the staff were great. My kids had a lesson the first day,and were snowboarding well by the second day.It is great for begginers.Just remember you have to put a deposit of $300 for the board,but you get it back when you return it.

First time snow boarding and at this place. What should I expect?

um Marlena, you might want to what your talking about when referencing to things. First its step-in bindings and second black diamonds are hard and scary thats why there called black diamond. I agree its not anything great, but considering the fact if your in the area its not bad and or an amateur like you it should be fine. also begining of the year yes its gonna be man made snow. were not in colorado.

Driving distance from Atlanta is not bad for a weekend trip to snowski. We enjoy all the activity in downtown Gatlinburg, also.
